KWP is safe, he starts, Bednarek back in to start but so is Manning. Fans vote for MOTM from the stadium vote on Saturday, Will Smallbone, is on the bench. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68420954

Because of 3 games in a week. Players need resting. All managers rotate the squad. Think this team looks ok. Bazunu injured.

Are we playing it back to AM as much as we do Baz?? Maybe we are just getting it forward quicker now? [Post edited 16 Apr 21:13]

But he had nothing to do to give us all regained confidence

More confident then bazuna between the sticks. And this isn't a post to slag off baz. Just saying i felt more comfortable and enjoyed his distribution better. Against a better team who knows but tonight he brought a calmness for me. UTS

A great win no doubt but only 6 on target from 23 only underlines why we lack the GD that may be needed

With Saints playing 7 games in 22 days, wise to rest some players if you get the chance, so good move to do this to all three midfield players
Saints V Preston Matchday Thread on 00:09 - Apr 17 with 3168 views | NYC_Saint | What was Bazunus injury? The original line up had him in it and lumley on the bench. Bit of a knock to lumley to get leapfrogged by McCarthy. However, I feel like we did just that bit less overpassing at the back which probably led to AM having a quiet game. I hope the manager saw that too and realizes that we don't need to overwork things at the back. Also, teams just got into the habit of pressing high then shooting on sight vs Baz. Maybe it'll work in our favor they might be playing against a slightly adjusted system over the next 4 games...?
Saints V Preston Matchday Thread on 06:58 - Apr 17 with 2991 views | cocklebreath | I don’t want to be a dick but I think the Bazanu injury will be a blessing in disguise. Who was the clapping for just before/during Che’s 2nd goal?
| |
Saints V Preston Matchday Thread on 07:39 - Apr 17 with 2926 views | Heisenberg | AM had one shot on target which he spilt. He also nearly gave a goal away faffing around at the back. This against a woeful Preston who hardly got into our half. The one positive is he does get rid of the ball when under pressure more regularly. Odd though he wasn’t even on the bench. It is what it is though and AMs experience may be useful in the run in.
