Laptop Speakers Amplifier 17:38 - Oct 26 with 2537 views | BrianMcCarthy | Oh Gods of all Knowledge, I bow before ye and pay ye homage... I've committed the cardinal error of buying a laptop with poor speakers. Is there such a thing as a sound amplifier that will raise the audio levels, or a pair of external speakers that also amplify? Something that goes up to 11?

Laptop Speakers Amplifier on 17:55 - Oct 26 with 2460 views | BerkoRanger | I use a pair of M-Audio AV 40 speakers which are specifically designed to plug in to and enhance the sound of a PC or laptop. Had them for over 5 years cos they are great. Regards.
Laptop Speakers Amplifier on 18:03 - Oct 26 with 2433 views | JimmyR | you don't really need and amp & separate speakers as a lot of speakers are active now (have an amp in them) Unless you want to fork out some serious wedge and buy a good amp/speakers? I assume you'd rather just send the sound wirelessly. A lot of the newer amps can receive digital sound via bluetooth/wireless. And you would be getting into hundreds & thousands of pounds this way The Megaboom 3's are really really good, loud enough for a party that would piss of the neighbours and better than most 'stereo' systems https://minirigs.co.uk/speakers/bluetooth-minirig-3 these are good too but lack the bass
Laptop Speakers Amplifier on 18:30 - Oct 26 with 2354 views | ted_hendrix | We use the Bose wireless SoundLink Mini II which Is superb. When I want Mans 'quite time' I have a set of Sennheiser wireless Over-Ear Headphones. (they are brilliant) When Mrs Ted want's Woman's 'quiet time' she has a pair of over ear Bose wireless headphones. (apparently they are brilliant) We're alway's missing phone calls for some reason. Laptop Speakers Amplifier on 18:48 - Oct 26 with 2298 views | BrianMcCarthy | Excellent info. Thanks everyone. I had tried googling it but was coming up with very tinny and cheap speakers which mightn't have added any volume and might have wrecked the sound. Will get a bluetooth option from one of your reccs. Thanks again.

The Bluetooth/portable ones are good because if you put them in the corner a room about 75/100 cms from the wall the sound bounces off walls/ceiling and the sound really fills the room

I'll try that. Another trick I learned with speakers is to put them on a wooden floor. Class.

Yeah not a big fan of BOSE either. There's tons of choices for this kind of thing. Last time I bought this kind of thing I went for an Audio Pro C3 wireless speaker. Robust and well built and quite a few options for connecting to it. Battery powered too which I didn't really need. Good full sound, not tinny in the slightest.

Yep and four little balls of blue tack underneath each speaker in the corners to keep them slightly of the floor or shelf - makes a difference.

Laptop Speakers Amplifier on 09:16 - Oct 27 with 1821 views | Esox_Lucius | Before getting speakers, you may need to check what sound card/ DAC/ audio processor you have in the laptop. It's not worth spending good money on great speakers if the sound output is poor to begin with. You can do this by searching for Device Manager and then in the window that appears, select Device Manager. Click the Arrow next to Sound, video and game controllers. Your sound card is in the list that appears.
