Plenty of Tory voters will be accomadating these poor people as will those of no political pursuasion. It hould be beyond party politics but it's not.
What our mega stars could do however is buy a few streets of empty houses and fill them with refugees.
I see Rod Stewart recently having to fill in pot holes on the road leading to his mansion as it was damaging his ferrari. Rock Stars have it rough too.

The mega stars can certainly help fund stuff. Is Jim even more guilty of "look at me£ when he is slagging off those who may well be helping for their own good?

Jase. Nothing is more sickening than virtue signalling though. If rock stars/celebs/millionaires want to help they can do so in privacy. The world doent need to know. There is enough millions on rock music megastars alone to build a whole resident street for the homeless and displaced .They dont need to appeal or organise sickening celeb charity events either.
McCartney is now worth over 1 Billion and he's 80 and unlikely to spend his wealth. Elton John,Rod Stewart,Sting, Bono all make out they are great humanists. And so it goes on and on.

I completely agree with you. I just think that JD is jumping on people's necks as a look at me moment. The homeless veterans need to be addressed though

I thought he stood his ground well there, must be sick of a lifetime of punishment for thirty five years ago. There’s many other ‘comedians’ from back then who have ducked flak completely.
A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

I enjoy watching snippets of him , he's not everyone's taste but he's got the gonads to say what most are thinking .
"In a free society, the State is the servant of the people—not the master."

Ah…the days when we had a sense of humour no matter what your colour race or creed.
How many of these celebrities/,politicians would actually be prepared to live in the same house at the same time as the refugees. Just smacks of publicity to me.
I read Jim's book a long time ago and he said when he was at the height of his fame in the early 1990's he was asked to host things like comic relief...etc and he said he couldn't stand there as a millionaire and ask people who had been grafting all week to give money to charity. That's when other celebs started slating him and doors started closing on him.
I've met him loads of times as he comes through where I work pretty often and when you speak to him he is exactly how he is on TV not like some of these media whores who will say or do anything just to make themselves look good.

It's what I allude to If people with real financial means want to,they could significantly change lives of many. The likes of John,Macca,Bono,Sting, even Adele now are set for life in a way unimaginable to mere mortals. And that s fine. But dont tell me their charity shows are anything but a self indulgent ego massage. What Elton wears on his fingers would be enough to fund Christ knows what to help.
If one is worth 1 billion pound and one's friends almost as much how much of that would be needed to build a hospital or a a block of flats for homeless people. Every day must be a moral nightmare.

Many do good things for charity and say nothing, there should be no need to mention it anywhere.
Ask yourselves this. If part of the deal of talking in a refugee was you were not allowed to tell a single person about it or post it on social media.
What sort of uptake do you think you would get?
It would fall off a cliff.
I think I’d make an exception, perhaps the only one in the world of showbizzzz, for Michael Sheen in that respect. I know for a fact he does an awful lot that flies below the radar because he spurns any personal credit.
Now, I agree with Michael Sheen on some of his stances, others not so much, but I can’t help but admire his innate decency.
An idea isn't responsible for those who believe in it.

Do you recall a few years ago now a group of luvvie actors fronted by Jude Law took a camera crew to the jungle camps in Calais in an attempt to show the world that they were all lovely people there, only to end up running away after being attacked after having all their equipment and mobile phones nicked and then pelted with rocks and stones?
None of these people live in the real world. They have been fenced off from reality for decades. Any charity work they do is for tax or PR purposes. Comic relief and those sorts of shows make me physically sick as they fawn over celebrities for heroically giving up their time for charity when they’re always plugging a brand new single or book.
