"A Rangers source has told Football Insider that the club have spoken to a number of candidates for the manager’s job, including Tim Sherwood and ex-West Brom chief Darren Moore"....Is that Source the interview Les did with Sky yesterday where he says all of that?
1 - we’re running an interview process, this is very welcome. It is however creating a situation where whoever has just had their meeting or been seen at the training ground suddenly crashes through the betting and becomes the darling of click bait websites. 2 - from a deeply uninspiring list, I’d probably be ok with this. 3 - clear remit please. And if he doesn’t like it after a month or the first 4 games then don’t change direction to please him. If he wants to walk away because of that then let him walk. That’s not to say the team doesn’t need surgery, but please no more “team of men” bolox if he makes a mess of the first few games. 4 - it’s unlikely we’ll get a great deal better, recent history tells us this. If it turns out to be the case again, maybe don’t immediately rush to blame/sack the bloke who, relatively speaking, just arrived.

5 - For God's sake don't give him a three year contract. Maximum 12 month rolling.
There was a football manager called Mark Who jumped off the tube at Queens Park He looked all around But saw no football ground So he said 'f*ck this for a lark'.
"Thank you for supporting Queens Park Rangers Steep Staircase"... and I thought I'd signed up for a rollercoaster.

For me, by far the most important point above is number 3.
It always irked me when Steve McClaren seemed to suggest (maybe misquoted) in press briefings ( in Aug./Sep time) that he had not appreciated/been made aware of the full financial situation he was working under at Rangers.
Whoever we choose (FWIW I would go for Warburton or Pearson) that individual must be sat down and told clearly, firmly and absolutely what the gig is — what the financial situation for the 2019/20 season will actually be, what the finishing target is (NB: not to be shared with fans), precisely how much money (…) will be available (if any), club structure, club strategy, and crucially his roles/responsibilities within that structure/strategy (stating clearly the boundaries of who does what/who decides what).
There can be no ambiguity here if the new man is to have a chance next season.
