Ah the Flashing Blade! "It's better to have fought and lost, than never fought at all."* My brother and I used to sing this as we galloped to school, waving our swords.
* Unless you're a Premier League player, when the advice is snuggle into your anorak on the bench and take the money.
Here's one that doesn't get a repeat, for some reason.
From the dustiest, most distant corners of my memory:
RFA
"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."
If we're doing modern TV themes then here's a few I rate.
This from Sons of Anarchy (series started out good, went rapidly downhill)
This is from Copper - I was really enjoying this series but they canned it after the second season...
And whether you like it or loathe it (and I love it), the theme from the new Poldark, written by the great Anne Dudley (look her up if you don't know about her career: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anne_Dudley ), sadly the volume is a bit low on every version i could find...
Yes, I'm intrigued by "Sandbaggers", too, Brian. I don't remember the series at all, but it does get a lot of very good reviews.
A quick Google search revealed it is easily available and cheaply, too, but only in formats suited to Europe and the US.
What is all this crap about regional formats? Do they think the Southern Hemisphere is only interested such Aussie classics as "Is My Politician Past His Use-By Date?", "Sheep Crutching: A Metrosexual Farmer's Perspective" and the landmark series "Beers Of The World; Episode One: Australia (Nb., all other episodes in series cancelled for lack of interest)"? I would post the theme tunes here but all three are Rolf Harris singing 'Please Release Me'...

Well, it's all on YouTube!
"The opposite of love, after all, is not hate, but indifference."
