However saw him on a couple of occasions, and while he was good, it was a shame he was so tight that he only ever toured with pick up backing musicians who were definitely on the cheapest union rates Chuck could get away with paying.
The shows were very definitely OK pay me some money, I'll play a few hits and when I think you've had your money's worth, I'm off.
Doesn't take anything away from the pure joy of Johnny B Good

He was infamous for having 'cheap' backing bands and roadies etc..I saw him at hammy odeon.. He did a 25 min set and fecked off... He was rude, arrogant and brilliant... He was rock n roll..!! 3 years later I saw him at the south bank doing a tv show... After that show, he played for 2 hours non stop..brilliant...he'll be regarded as a true LEGEND... And rightly so.

One of my all time favourite musicians. Regardless of his misdemeanors off stage and his well known fractious manner, he was a rock and roll pioneer whose foundations were steeped in the blues and R and B and one of a handful who deserve the accolade as a legend. To me he should have bequeathed the title of King of Rock and Roll. A massive influence on so many rock stars and musicians from the Stones, Beatles, Quo and matey in my avatar. The list is endless. I wish I had seen him live. 'Hail hail Rock n Roll'. RIP
There aint half been some clever bastards.

Learnt European geography from reading the Uefa Cup scores early rounds. Learnt American geography from listening to Chuck Berry. You had to if you went to a Comprehensive. Chuck Berry. Legend. His music will live for ever. Geography won't.

Ahh, I'd never heard of that! Still, RIP to the legend Chuck Berry. Then again he did epitomize Rock n Roll in it's truest sense, a crass genius and brilliant musician.

Chuck Berry was always the consummate rock star. When he released his autobiography he went on a book tour to promote it and uber-agent Caroline Michel turned up to accompany him on his travels. Chuck had no idea who she was and simply assumed his publishers had sent her to give him a blow job on the plane.
She politely declined, and refused to fly with him.

Strange thing, when I came to this site a few minutes ago, you suddenly were appearing on my ignore list but I didn't do this. Are there gremlins or are MI5 on your case?
