Conor joined us just after Charlie left to go to Southampton and was expensive at somewhere between 2.5m and 3m
He has played in 8 games so far without scoring.
I have read and listened to fans who have said our system of 1 up front does not suit him - it is working out better for Polter in that role.
Also from reports I read he did not play well for Northen Ireland the other night.
Do you think Conor will make the step up from League One to Championship and hopefully Premiership with us or not?

It would be interesting to know a bit more about what system he played in at Peterborough.
He has looked lively when I have seen him off the bench but as a lone striker he seemed isolated. He needs a goal or two to get his confidence going and a pre season with JFH to integrate properly.

Good to hear - just not seen much of him and interested in what you all think.
I picked up the 8 games online - thought most were sub appearances glad you confirmed it

If 'playing one up front' means booting the ball up to Washington then no, he can't play one up front (by the way, I thought the whole point of getting rid of Zamora was that we weren't going to play Bang it up to Bobby football anymore).
Also it looks to me like he is not a head down and run towards the goal with the ball player who doesn't interact with other players - he has vision so needs other players around him to pass to and get the ball back from (e.g. in his first appearance he laid on a great ball across the box for Chery). One problem I think he's got at the moment is getting on the same wavelength as other players - he sometimes makes runs to receive a pass that doesn't come either because he's gone too early or the other player can't see the pass. |  |

I trust JFH to work out exactly how he can best be used during a proper pre-season. I've liked what I've seen so far and think he would work either as an alternative for Chery's current role, or even wide left as he looks more capable of beating players and producing an end result than Hoilett. |  | | |
