Southampton 1 v 3 Newcastle United FA Premier League Saturday, 25th January 2025 Kick-off 15:00 |
codge added 17:16 - Jan 25 Well didn’t expect much more to be honest,we still spend more time going backwards instead of putting the ball into the area we’re we have a giant waiting for the ball so we lose momentum to many times.let’s be honest we’re not going to survive with this team it’s juust a matter of time realistically.Harsh on the penalty call but does a ref ever overturn the var when there told to take a second look.So all l can see is struggling to get above the lowest points total and that won’t be easy. codge added 17:16 - Jan 25 Well didn’t expect much more to be honest,we still spend more time going backwards instead of putting the ball into the area we’re we have a giant waiting for the ball so we lose momentum to many times.let’s be honest we’re not going to survive with this team it’s juust a matter of time realistically.Harsh on the penalty call but does a ref ever overturn the var when there told to take a second look.So all l can see is struggling to get above the lowest points total and that won’t be easy. Bowlercow added 18:11 - Jan 25 We are a totally disorganised team and no better now than when RM was in charge At least then you knew the system he was trying to use even if we didn't have the players for it Now we are just a rabble out for a kick about on a Saturday afternoon No game plan no organisation no tactics Utterly useless coaching Bowlercow added 18:11 - Jan 25 We are a totally disorganised team and no better now than when RM was in charge At least then you knew the system he was trying to use even if we didn't have the players for it Now we are just a rabble out for a kick about on a Saturday afternoon No game plan no organisation no tactics Utterly useless coaching Bowlercow added 18:12 - Jan 25 We are a totally disorganised team and no better now than when RM was in charge At least then you knew the system he was trying to use even if we didn't have the players for it Now we are just a rabble out for a kick about on a Saturday afternoon No game plan no organisation no tactics Utterly useless coaching I_would added 19:00 - Jan 25 Jellybaby added 19:57 - Jan 25 Newcastle have better players, we are lacking confidence, still trying to get up to fitness levels, exactly what happened was to be expected. We actually scored a good goal. McCarthy had a good game. I like Fernandez, It wasn't another 4 or 5 goal drubbing. Those are the positives. It is what it is. AmericanSaint added 21:16 - Jan 25 VAR is a joke. I thought that unless there is over ridding evidence, the on field REF's call stands. Obviously not when it comes to us. Plus the ref was again horrible (not as bad as Oliver but close). Even the commentators thought it wasnt a penalty. 2nd goal was pure quality in the build up and 3rd was all Bendarek's fault. SaintPaulVW added 22:20 - Jan 25 Too many players just going through the motions, overall result was fair enough. We went ahead, played well in patches but lackluster defending and 2 clinical strikes did for us. Unfortunately, it was a penalty. However Fernandes was onside. Be glad to see the back of VAR- if a clear and obvious error takes 5 minutes to determine, then I would suggest it's neither clear nor obvious. UgandaSaint added 06:55 - Jan 26 Smallbone's statistics 0 tackles made 0 interceptions 1 sideways pass 2 back passes 0 forward passes Big improvement on his last game.
