Juventus Set Sights On Pelle
Tuesday, 10th Nov 2015 21:43

Graziano Pelle is report ably going to be the subject of a bid from Italian giants Juventus in the January transfer wndow.

Juventus might be nicknamed the Old Lady and can genuinely claim to be giants of Italian football, but at the moment they are not one of the top sides, currently they lie 7th in the table after 12 games and have only just registered back to back wins in the season.

Pelle is finally seen as a top striker in his home country and has scored 3 goals in 7 games during the Azurri's Euro qualifying campaign, including some vital winners.

Now Juventus are believed to be eyeing up a bid for him in the January transfer window in a bid to raise their status in Serie A.

However Ronald Koeman will be keen to hang on to his star striker having recently described him as one of the best strikers in the Premier League after the immaculately haired Italian followed up his best game ever for Saints at home to Swansea with an even better one at Chelsea and he is integral to the way that Saints play.

Reports of Man U interested too, which could be just an agent starting a rumour. If any of these are true then obviously Pelle is a key part to our team and selling him would have a huge impact on the way we play. Let's hope there's no truth to these rumours.

He is in very good form so it is inevitable that so called bigger teams will be having reported interest. This is a way of life now for the modern Saints fan. Trust in RoKo that if he doesn't want him to go he won't and the club will already have a list of potential replacements if he does.

I'm sure the asking fee will be high and the Italian league is way behind the PL in terms of finances these days so would be surprised if Juve could cover it plus wages. There wouldn't be much left over for the hairdresser and that could be the deal breaker.

Really do not want him to go as he has been brilliant his passion ability and effort in every game unquestionable and he is getting better. However the accountant in me sees a contract that runs out Summer 2017, so only 1 year left next summer, stock is high, but player getting older!!!! So this is the dilemma the club face these days with their current modal. Can they sell say in the summer make a profit and get in an equally as capable or better player for less!!! I really want him to extend but the Austin factor is still around and I'm sure there are others abroad that like Pelle previously I have not heard of that are available. will be interesting to see how this pans out and I doubt anything will happen in the winter window, but this is world Saints live in.

What's he worth. Strikers value decreases sharply over 30 but that said we only paid 8 so he really doesn't owe us much if anything. I think he's worth more to us and the way we play than any fee we might get for him. I can see the same situation developing as we had with Lambert.

Players and contracts its a laugh. However the money we have for some of our players, recently departed. sees us stronger and potentially high has we have ever been. We can get anyone in but choose to be sensible in how we spend I think its all good bit of business. I think there is better to come whoever comes and goes Pelle would be a little more difficult to replace his other attributes are only seen in Lambert who went cheaply in my opinion. We always aspire to have a good striker of one sort of another remember when we had Chivers and Davies two similar number 9s with good wingers either side similar to today maybe Sam Gallagher to grow into a role??

Usual press rubbish to unsettle Saints as we push on up the table and once again threaten the unholy quadruply. Pelle is really happy here, why would he move from a club and a league that gave him international recognition. He wouldn't and won't.

Players are not stupid and least of all Graziano who will be only too well aware of Ricky Lambert's remarkable fall from grace once he shunned the hands that nurtured him and found himself locked outside the gates of Staplewood. Something magical happens inside there; journeymen turned into world class stars - only the most idiotic will give all that up because they see themselves as bigger than any club or system.

My bet is that Graziano Pelle will finish his career under RK here at Southampton. Many years ahead for him to return home for the Italian life such as it is.
