Whilst i am very excited about the two piossible signings Italian cb astori and the young Brazilian coutinho if they happen, but I am concerned that they can hit the ground running as we need them to do , I feel a couple of wise old head signings could be more important to keep us up at this stage of the season ,friedel / given would be great in goal ,and Dawson or a fit Dawson type attacking cb would help no end and a pacy winger like Matty Philips to cross the ball to the back post for standard Ricky finishes ie not try and walk the ball in for the perfect goal finishes . And a massive fingers crosed that lallana /fonte are back ASAP |

Agree with most of the above ,but what has not been discussed is that we were one dimensional ,chaplow would have brought an urgency to our play had he been either a sub or a starter ,just pretty stuff will not work we also need a blend of short /long balls and pretty quick passing and the odd crunchy tackle to lift the players and fans alike ,I have complete faith in Nigel and the don to get the right players in also .There is a long way to go and to date they haven't let us down ! I have a feeling that we will win 1of the next 2games :) (not the cup game ) COYR |

ALL derbies are fast and frenetic and form is irrelevent ,fair play to Pompey they worked very hard especially in the second half when they seamed half a yard quicker than us , overall though we created by far the most chances , you can't odds 2 strikes like that ,and there keeper made a couple of worldy saves. Calm down guys,the article is stating he has improved them as players not bought them ,in kelvins case his all round game changed ,just over a year ago when he had about 3 months of Nigels coaching (as he was a keeper ) I noticed a much more composed and commanding player ,and in Ricky's case he was just an out and out goalscorer where as now he is a complete team player and that is since Nigel arrived ! Agree with the report except Hammond for Morgan as he just can't bloody tackle ,you have to earn the right to play against any team ,but when teams get in his face early on he is just not up for the fight .Also correct about kelvin he should be stronger as their keeper was .Very pleased with punchy ,how times can change .It has to be said that Ricky was immense ,we will go up if he stays fit .Onwards and upwards !! Lukas would fit the bill and given some Nigel coaching could really improve ,his strength is key if sir Ricky gets injured ,on maynard I am not sure about him ,he seems to have pace but lacks technical ability in the games I have watched him ,I would try george Boyd of Peterborough or asamoh of Bristol as they both have impressed me with their tekkers and in this team that is vital as it showed when forte played .in Nigel and the don I trust ;) coyr |

Special mention for Nigel as every game goes by I am more and more impressed with his tactical accumen ,for 20 mins in the first half Brighton had us chasing shadows as we do to other teams but he reverted to the diamond with Hammond deep and lallana just behind lambo/gully and corky and chappers centrally and at that moment it was game over ,thanks Nigel in you we have a JEM COYR |

It was a strange game in the fact that we could so easily won 5or 6 .3 but I have not seen such an open game away for years .Yes Harding was poor as was Fraser ,seabourne again had a pretty solid game ,fonte baby was at times poor and had to make last ditch tackles to redeem the situation ,the standout player for me was corky ,he was everywhere and once deridder came on we crucified them ,but yes a younger jaidi type cb required and a nippy striker and it's happy days also Adkins has got us playing a brand of football that is a revalation long may it continue .COYR
