Do we have to send everyone here to the Russell Martin re-education gulags? Martin won't change his style because he's a savant re-inventing football in his image, removing the need for pesky things like shooting or scoring, and proving you can stay up simply by achieving 100% possession. |

Honest question do you genuinely believe this stuff you write? I mean I don't think i could write "scamdemic" or "predictive programming" and keep a straight face to be honest. |

Just subscribe to the blocklists they block the worst people as soon as they join and you don’t even know they exist. It’s genuinely a breath of fresh air compared to the insane shouting of a tiny minority of over confident idiots on twitter |

The Trowbridge Toff Saint Rob signed up today so i immediately blocked the little pr*ck which felt good. Would be nice if that cult of "influencers" was shut down before they begun there to be honest |

I just apply the pub principle to social media, if i walked into a pub and the landlord was screaming about white supremacy and acting like a loon, and the people drinking there just wanted to shout in your face about things you didn't want to engage in, i'd walk out and not go back. That's basically twitter these days, and i've no interest in listening to that rubbish or putting up with those people so i've left. |

It can feel a bit slow as there’s no algorithm so you need to follow people you find interesting for it to work. Saying that the plus side is being angry or controversial doesn’t get you promoted and is more likely to get you blocked so there’s no incentive to grift like that. Personally I like that it’s slower, and that it’s split into people’s interests or professions more than shouting at each other. It’s a bit like a natter down the pub where the two people that shouted woke or racist at each other every night have been barred from |

Assume you’ve not used it? Mine is full of people talking about top of the pops repeats, food and beer, then the specific work stuff I follow around advertising, technology and business. I’ve signed up to blocklists that block people who want to shout about politicos automatically so I’ll never see them and muted references to football. It’s actually pretty nice to be honest, and a great change from the over the top fake anger of twitter. I guess if you’re looking for engagement through baiting you’ll hate it though as people just get blocked immediately and added to lists others can subscribe to so they don’t have to see any of that nonsense |

Most of the companies I work with are either pulling ads spend and social on twitter or stopping all together. The proliferation of bots and the ease for their brand to end up next someone praising white supremacy of Hitler is too likely for them to take the risk. Wouldn’t be surprised to see it implode completely in the next couple of years |

There's no ads, there's also no algorithm either. You get stuff from people you follow in chronological order of when it was posted. You can subscribe to feeds about stuff you like, or see stuff your friends liked, but there's no actual algorithm It's putting on about 1m new users a day so pretty fast growing too |

I made the switch over as i'd had enough of the ads on twitter, plus the AI stuff concerns me. From what i can tell it's more split into smaller communities, and fits my need as something centered around my work instead of the bile and rants of a place like twitter. Also refreshingly there's hardly any football content on there, which is exactly what i want from social media. |

I'm not going but that's mainly because, Martin's football is absolutely god awful and makes going to matches a chore Liverpool will destroy us The new Northam makes going to St Mary's sh*t. South West Trains have gotten rid of the 10:30pm back to waterloo, so i either miss the end of the game to make the 10pm or get in after the tubes have stopped and i have to get three buses home. I'd have to take a half day off to go down, and probably a half day off the next day if i stay over. So £30 for a game we'll probably lose, to watch football that bores me to death, in a stand of people I mostly hate, to either get home in the early hours with work the next day or use up holiday to watch it seems over priced and pointless |
| Forum Reply | Saints Not Afraid Of Sacking Russell Martin Even If They Have To Pay at 12:41 14 Nov 2024
"There is little point in sacking him if nobody better wants the gig." He's got 4 points from 11 games, we've only scored 7 goals and have conceded 21. At this point even Nathan Jones had a better record than Russell Martin, so i'd argue pretty much anyone is better than this JFK football fraud |

I assume he'll open with the line "ever get the feeling you've been cheated" and roll out Sport Republic and Martin |

I've travelled South America a fair bit as i have family there, of the places i've been Venezuala was amazing especially the mountains and i really liked Argentina. Both were before the current political situations though so i'm assuming they might've changed a fair bit. But of all of the places i went the one i loved the most was Brazil. Rio is probably one of the best places i've ever been, and don't believe the stuff about it being dangerous, just don't act like a d*ck and you're fine. Salvador was also incredible and the music there is everything you'd expect from Brazil (far more so than Rio interestingly), but it was a fair bit more sketchy and there were roads you just got a gut feeling you couldn't go down |

I genuinely think this is the least i've enjoyed watching Saints play since Branfoot (and at least under Branfoot we had Le Tiss). The "style" of play is dire, a million passes in areas that make no difference to the game, followed by a mistake that costs us the game and no mental strength in the team which means most times one goal turns into three as their heads drop. Then post game we have to listen to a bloke that is completely delusional tell us how it's positive and brave, and that all of us that watch it are wrong. Couple that with the god awful linked in speak that the more visible parts of the ownership stuff in our face and it's absolutely everything wrong with modern football. But yet i still go because it's never really been about the actual game for me, but god does it depress me to see my home city embarrassed like this on a weekly basis |
