Give anything for an O'Grady, Ellis or Beesley to be able to hold the ball upfront instead of pissing around in our own half for half the game. |

We are definitely scared to shoot. Or is it instructed from the manager? There were certainly multiple occasions on Saturday around the edge of the box where shots could have been attempted but we choose to pass and pass again. Shooting from outside the box doesn't seem to be encouraged. As for the target man debate - yes the team isn't set up to play this way but Waller has definitely gone long more these last 2 games and Mitchell has been useless either challenging or holding the ball up so either Jim tells Waller to stop going direct or we just continue to lose possession. |

With the home pitch the way it is - and not likely to get any better - and the way we've played against both Oldham and Ebbsfleet do we need to bring a target man in upfront? It's just not Mitchell's game and Waller has played quite a lot of long balls in the last 180 mins which have just given up possession. Obviously its not the way Jim wants to play but we need to find a way to adapt to this pitch or else we wont make the play offs. |

There are no easy games in the National League this season... Apart from Ebbsfleet home and away and we've won neither. |

The negative and slow play with no urgency was summed up for me near the end. Ebbsfleet put a cross into the box with most of their team upfield. Waller collected the ball and we had the chance of a quick counter. He held onto the ball till Ebbsfleet got back into position then launched it forward and they regained possession because they were back. This comes solely down to Jim in my eyes - he sets them up to play like that. Awful. |

Bottom of the league. - 46 goals. 12 points (before today) Awful beyond words. Bet Jim doesn't mention budget in his post match today. |

We've not got the players to change tactics though. Jim has brought in players to play this way. It just showed last night when Waller kicked around 20 long balls direct and Mitchell won absolutely zero of them. Mitchell is great knocking in goals played across the six yard box when our fullbacks have overlapped. He's awful as a target man or holding up the ball or spinning off to make runs. His attempted header at the end should have made it 1-1. It was a great ball in from Buyabu and deserved finishing. |

Very poor interview from Jim after that woeful performance. Blamed the pitch, blamed our young inexperienced team and blamed Oldham having a bigger budget! One things for sure is if we meet Oldham in the playoffs we aren't getting promoted. |

This SHOULD be a massive game for the town. Local derby cup quarter finals dont come along for Rochdale that often 🤔 £10 for adults £5 for kids and get it marketed around the town. 2 Wins from a Wembley final and our first ever trophy. |

Lets face it this is Rochdale. We could have rain most Saturday's and Tuesday's every month till the end of the season. |

What has happened in the last few months from earlier in the season though? We've had games in September, October and November with heavy rain during games and it has drained. Now suddenly its f@cked? I remember a few years ago we had a firm assess the drainage and they said the wrong sand had been put on the surface and it had set solid underneath the surface and blocked all the drainage. Has this happened again? 🤔 |

Fairly damning their wording "straightforward decision". Certainly a different view than the clubs statement this afternoon. |

This is the first game off after spending thousands to rectify the pitch though! I think his point is it was playable on Saturday - the weather hasn't been too adverse in-between then and today. The only other factor is there was a rugby game played on Sunday. That really shouldn't be an issue though. |

The club obviously thought it was perfectly playable with the statement earlier. Not sure what the referee saw that was different. The club wouldn't have been happy with the decision. I cant see any way it was unplayable - it was maybe not ideal but just get on with it. Some of the pitches we had in the 80's and 90's looked like that corner all over the pitch! And the Millwall FA Cup game a few years ago was played almost on sand! |
