The Daffs song is also being used for a charity. We are using our song to highlight Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy which is a life limiting disease that usually affects young boys. One day soon a cure will be found. www.actionduchenne.org
On a separate subject which has nothing to do with The Wales Footballl Anthum in question.Derek and the Daffs / Sing up for Chris Coleman's boys is a good song for everyone to sing . Its copyrighted so it's an original song and it's by two Swansea Jacks. Most of the others are Cardiff based tribute songs.
When I wrote this song I had many people come on to me and absolutely loved the idea of doing a tribute to James. I spoke to James wife Rachel and she said that James was honoured and proud of the song if slightly flattered. In many ways James IS a legend. Probably not the greatest player the club has had but what he did that day meant soo much to many Jack fans and the club itself. It was such a special moment that will go down in the clubs history for years to come.Yes I agree that a hero or legend can be anyone who gives his time to help others.Everyone who gives blood donations or has contributed to a worthy charity is a legend(Agreed) But in this world we live in which contains much heartache it was a moment for fans to enjoy, and that's the point,We as football fans all need that escape from this mad crazy world from time to time and that is why we love the game.So indeed James is a legend, Our legend.
