If (when?) he goes, this'll be another one of those transfers that benefits nothing but the players' bank balance. Clive has called it - he will get 10-15 appearances for the Blades this season, then they'll get the Prem Cash and realise that they can now afford better and then will push Jimmy back to the Championship with Leicester or Soton either on loan or on a permanent. Jimmy will justify all of this to himself that "it isn't about the money, its about a chance to play at the top level" as he HAS to believe that for himself. BUT, it IS about the money as that is the only thing that will be different in 2-3 years' time. Shame, but this is football. Whatever you all think about Chair and all your crap about him "holding on to it for too long" and being "atrocious", there is a player that WANTS to be here. Do you think they have offered Chair millions more than they have offered Jimmy? Doubtful, but Illy signed and is staying. If Jimmy wants us to believe how much he loves the club, I have little doubt that there is a reasonable offer on the table. Yes, he could get more elsewhere, but if he truly WANTS to stay, he can. I doubt that he will though, sadly. |

...and another reason we should all cherish Chair. Absolutely he could get more money elsewhere, but when HE says he loves us, he stays. THAT is the proof, not just saying it in the press and then leaving because we did not offer enough... |

As others have said it was the stoppage time think that was the "best". They had substitutions including fat boy Connolly taking 30 seconds to get off the pitch; the game re-started at around 90:40. Then the final goalkick. The ball went out at 93:20 and I said to my lad, this 'keeper will take until 94 to kick it and this tosser will blow straight on 4 minutes. Stop the f**king clock when the ball is out of play FFS! He was abysmal. |

Sadly, I am finally there with you all. Our best player by miles, he was still showing for the ball, picking it up deep, trying really, really hard, but little came off for him today. That is a surprise, but what is not a surprise is that it is the left where we are weak - lil' Kenny regressed to his "can't get injured for my next contract" mode. A HUGE risk not having back up to him as he will hit the point of absolutely can't be bothered around March time... and Morgan Fox was also poor today. Cook and Morrison with a new left back and Edwards at RB on Tuesday please... |

Honestly, THE worst refereeing display I have seen. Not his fault we lost; their second goal was disgraceful by our senior pros at CB. What capped the refs performance was the last action of that game. The subbed players came on during the 4 minutes. The ball went out on 93:24. It took them 36 seconds to take the kick and then the ref blows up. Scandalous. Not an awful defeat, but that second goal was awful. Cook shanking his clearance and Fox turning into a statue when the ball came back off the bar. Edward's clear MoM again... |

And what about that tackle from Jimmy's little brother? Homer. |

This ref. Seething here. The most homer of homers. How did Connolly not get booked? |

You are so right. The world is not full of "nice" people doing the right things and football is ten times worse. We have been too nice for far too long, but, at times have partaken in some good shithousey. |

He didn't seem to think that he could book players in orange, did he? Horrible, team roratin niggly fouls amongst them As soon as they noticed the ref was weak as pss, they just carried on and on. Preston like timewasting too. Seven mins was light, but even in that spell Bannon took a minute to get off the pitch and they still blew up exactly on 7. No complaints as we would not have scored all night, but they are truly horrible. [Post edited 26 Jan 8:48]

Think there is a clear reason for that. Kieran Morgan was next to Bannon for the first half and the early bits of the second, then wasn't. Probably a fitness thing, but hardly going to blame anyone after the run we've been on. We weren't that bad over the first 16 games and weren't that good over the last 13. It'll balance out to around where we are now... |

Yours is not a unique view, Ned. On here the majority of us seemed to be uncomfortable with that signing. Maybe not immediately as maybe he'd changed, but when rumours of him undermining Warnock surfaced, a lot of us wanted him out. I had to miss the play off run, where I suspect he got a bit of support, but the bloke is an utter wrong 'un and needs to be taught a lesson at some point. Odious, mis guided individual - way, way stupider than the genius he thinks he is. |

Bit over optimistic there, matey - 5-1 surely? Hull looked MUCH better last night. Glad we got them playing like they did... |

Ah, only saw the highlights; didn't realise that - thanks, Ned, but... Booing the messiah Danny Rohl? Maybe they should back the manager vocally when things are not going well to avoid the owner / club management taking drastic action and getting rid of him... Apparently, that helps... |

Just watching ITV's EFL show from Weds night. I know that the Owls had a shocking fans forum, but wtf are their fans doing booing them after a 2-2 Draw with Bristol C? A team level with them on points in the table. 3 points off the playoffs. Odd. Entitled? |

He had an off day. He is allowed. Marti spotted that and subbed him. End of story. |

Ned, response to your post (forgot to Quote you...) Maybe, but go up when not ready and we'll just embarrass ourselves again. Look I understand wanting to get as high as we can, but winning is just so much more fun than losing every single week. It was horrible the last couple of times and looking at my Saints supporting mates, right now, the promise of a top 6 or top 2 season next season is scant consolation for them right now. Slow build for me and if Marti can't wait, it'll be with whoever takes his job on. [Post edited 19 Jan 17:52]

We need to build, season onu season before considering it. Top 12 this season, top 8 next, then playoff semi finalist and then either automatic or play off winners. Look at yesterday's team and performance. Look at last week v Leicester who keep losing in the prem. A different planet to teams in the prem. If we fluked our way up (and it would be a fluke), we'd have to mortgage the clubs future to build a competitive squad. That means doing a Forest. They have got away with it by staying up. Does anyone think we would? Build season on season. When we win more than we lose over 3 seasons, then we can talk. |

No. Bottom three will be those promoted last season. As will be the case next season and the one after that... Money disparagy far too much. |
