I think young Morrison takes a lot of credit. Never scheduled to step up this quickly . He's 21, born on the same day as me. I mean think about his age. 21 and he plays like a veteran of 10 seasons. Assured, calm, reads the game so well and is a big reason we are now much harder to score against.
From lost in space to team pilot. It has taken some time for him to get up to speed but bloody hell he controls the midfield now. His reading of the game is so good now and he plays with a maturity well beyond his years. He seems to absolutely love it as well and has a fantastic relationship with the fans.
This. He really is Mr QPR. We would be so stupid to let him go. Must get a longer term contract sorted out for him asap. He really loves this club and shows incredible commitment, even through personal tragedy. So good when he goes forward as well.
Very close that one but Usyk just connected that bit more. Very very close. Much closer than the score cards suggest but Usyk is a phenomena. Nothing for Fury to be sorry about, he was very good but there is just this guy who's just that bit better... than anyone.
There's been a few fans saying the Preston lad should have stopped playing when Cook's hamstring went but he was ahead of Cook so never would have seen that he'd gone down. Another hamstring and to a really key player. But we won! And we so deserved the won today. Paal's miss is miss of the season at the start of the game but I like the guy.
One of those games where not winning it would have been a total injustice. Kolli is so dangerous and we need to tie him down. Likewise Dunne who I really think should get the number 9 shirt as he seems so comfortable in the opposition's box.
Team are playing with so much more confidence and Morgan continues to be a revelation, as does Morrison.
I agree on most of that. Dunne and Cook have proven that they are the glue not only in the team but also off the park and around the training ground. You have to do everything you can to keep leaders like that. Both are supremely fit and Cook is astonishing. He doesn't look like the kind of guy who would be a prime athlete but he really is. I'd love us to settle things financially and develop Kolli properly. Loads of potential there. Chair is another big part of the QPR machine here behind the scenes as well as on the pitch. If he has a good second half of the season though I think both he and the club would need to weigh up their options. Colback really depends on how he comes back this time. He is a top player at this level but the injuries mount up.
QPR WANT NORWEGIAN FUTURE STAR According to news outlets in Norway, QPR are interested in signing Tromso striker Lasse Nordas. Lasse is only 22 yet has heavily impressed during his career in Norway so far. He has featured for the Norway U21s on several occasions netting 3. This season, he has 13 goal contributions within 28 games in the Eliteserien. He also netted 2 goals within the UECL qualifiers. Valued at £1.5million, QPR are not the only club interested.
What's that Lasse? Someone's fallen down a well and you haven't scored a goal in 4 games?
His agent will get him a Head & Shoulders commercial by dawn.
I always think of Russell Martin as a Musical Youth manager. "Pass the Dutchie on the left hand side, then pass it again and again and again and again and again..."
In all seriousness though the difference between managers like Martin and Cifuentes is that Martin just wants to play football in a certain way despite the personnel he has and when it doesn't work he just persists relentlessly despite the player's shortcomings. Cifuentes has wanted to play football another way but has learnt that you can't do that if you don't have the personnel. In which case this is season 2 of ditching those ideals and making us hard to beat. At the end of the day you can have all the possession you want and pass everyone to death as Martin tries to do or you can say, okay we're not as good as I imagine we are so we'll just be well organised and as Marti has learn't the phrase this week... grind out results.
Very right footed player being asked to play left back. Willing to play left back when asked. Not brought here to play left back but has stood in when Paal is injured. Not having a great time but this all feels a little harsh. His ability to hit some cross field passes have shown what he can do. Give the kid a break.
