Sim Only is a good way to go, also worth looking at your broadband provider.
I have 4 phones on sim only deals, 5 gig of data a month (doubled to 10 gig as my broadband is with BT) with unlimited calls & texts for £32 a month in total which equals £8 a month per sim. |

I'm a QPR fan in my 40's who lives in MK who was there today.
I've lived in MK since 1975 when my parents moved from Hayes.
Used to be a season ticket holder, these days am only a member and get to about 10 home games a season.
I have a young family, two boys who are football mad and play Saturday mornings which means getting to LR is a bit of a rush.
My boys both support QPR and come to games with me, meeting up with family / friends who go to QPR games. They both wear QPR shirts when out playing football with their friends, at football training and anywhere else we will let them.
However we can't get to every home game so do go to games
occasionally to watch the Dons as a lot of their friends go and the added bonus is that under 12's are free, so for about £15 we get an afternoon at a game, the kids are happy and we get to see a team that play good passing football.
I don't support the Dons, I don't stand up and cheer when they score but I don't mind my children cheering when their local team scores, to them and their friends they all class the Dons as their '2nd team' - not a phrase I believe in as you can't have a 2nd team, however it gets the kids into going to football with their friends on a Saturday afternoon which is a good thing in my opinion.
So on the plus side, it's good for MK, their academy is producing good young players, they are playing attractive passing football, it's cheap to watch in relatively comfortable surroundings.
I have colleagues at work who happen to have moved to MK for work and because they support teams like Liverpool / Norwich / Ipswich / Hull City / Celtic / Newcastle / Bristol City, all the London teams for whatever reason (work / wives / kids / finances) can't get to their teams games but can get to a live game at their local stadium and regularly go to games - surely that's good for football?
On the downside the formation of the team was wrong, the adults wearing replica kits and calling themselves 'MK Army' is just plain wrong, then again living locally I'd rather see these silly people wearing football shirts for their local team then the team they used to 'support' (but never attended matches at), I'm sure that we all know loads of people who support teams all over the country but never actually go to games, so getting those people to live football has got to a good thing?
The Dons are doing well and are doing a good job of attracting young fans, who will become fans over time.
In 10 years time when my oldest is 20 I'd love it if he was coming to watch QPR with me every other week, however if him and his friends were going to MK Dons games I'd be happy with that as he would be supporting his local team, however they were formed because that is what football is all about.

I'm a QPR fan who lives in MK and I've lived here since 1975 when my parents moved from Hayes.
Thankfully we've still got family around that area so growing up we've always gone to QPR games, meeting up with other family members and we still go now.
However one of my brothers fell in with a crowd at school and him and his mates used to go to Wimbledon games, all were at the cup final in 88, of those some now follow AFC, some follow MK Dons and some don't really follow any club any more as 'their' club no longer exists.
Over the years since they club moved this has led to many conversations, many of them very drunken conversations - but the guys all follow their own teams and don't have a lot on interest in the other team, it's only ever dragged up by other fans, AFC and Dons fans seem to ignore each other.
As for those people in MK, a lot of people moved to MK from all over London in the 1970's and 1980's, they would all support teams, hence there are lots of QPR, Spurs, Arsenal, West Ham, Millwall, Charlton, Palace, Old Wimbledon (and all other London clubs) around MK
My father in law is a Millwall fan who used to go to a lot of games when he lived in London, but after moving to MK in the late 70's he stopped going to games , a combination of factors, after playing football in the morning he'd have trouble getting to London for a 3pm kick off - not everyone had cars in the 70's, spending 2 hours each way traveling to games on your own is not much fun, he had a young family, financial commitments such as buying a new house and as always live football is something that it is easy to get out of the habit of going to.
I believe that still holds true, I've had season tickets in the past but now have a young family and cannot afford to go to every game, fortunately my kids are just starting to get into football so hopefully I'll start getting to more games over the next couple of years - at the moment it's only about 10 to 15 games per season.
Anyway I believe that a lot of people got out of the habit of going to live football in MK, some of them now are getting back into it by following the dons, personally I've only ever been to the stadium once and that was our game, but I have a lot of friends who 'follow' various teams and enjoy either taking their children to the dons games or meeting up with friends for a couple of pints, followed by a game of football - nothing wrong with that, it's what we've all being doing for years.
Again I think Wimbledon relocating was a bad decision by the FA and I would like to think that they wouldn't allow it to happen again
And I don't like cheese!

that's correct, if you can't get a direct train, get any train from shepherds bush to watford, then watford to bletchley, same on the way home.
I've missed the train at MK then caught a quicker one to watford and got back on the shepherds bush train at watford before |
