| Your Report | Southampton v Stoke City Your Report added at 13:38:49 If most of our fans think that McCarthy was the best player yesterday, we really are in trouble. Awful distribution and, as usual, easily beaten at his near post to lose us the game, when that was the only place he needed to protect. There wasn't a lot good out there, I admit. But the same old tired rotation of places by RM, meaning there is no longer any credible competition for getting an appearance, with a bull headed determination to never give any of our youngsters a chance, means it's hard for any player to shine. Our Midfield is totally ineffective and its left to our forwards to come back and try and create some build up. No hope of that when so many bang average signings and loan players who no longer care surround them |

| Your Report | Southampton v Millwall Your Report added at 19:39:06 Since we have introduced WiFi in the ground it's given me a headache and shit results. Can we turn that crap off now please? Agree that the subs seemed to bring little benefit. But then am still grateful for the incredible run we've been on. Certainly no need to push the panic button but maybe let's give players minutes based on performances vs amount of experience |
| Your Report | Southampton v Tottenham Hotspur Your Report added at 23:33:54 Maybe next time we'll keep more defensive options on the bench. Caleta Car might have been able to stop Kane's goal. Delighted with the performers. The team worked hard and earnt well deserved respect. In the light of losing both centre backs so early in the game, showed great character to come out of the game with anything. Walcott and Adams were class. A lot positive across the team. Would like to maybe see AMN given a regular birth in Midfield as he brings something extra. Mara, Sulemana and Armstrong all made intelligent attacking contributions. Well done Saints. To be honest, it wasn't the preformance that I expected when I heard the team |
| Your Report | Southampton v Brentford Your Report added at 22:52:46 Clear to me that Selles got it badly wrong tonight. The team at home, as we saw against Leicester, needs the fans behind them. And they're not going to get that by constantly turning over possession, passing the ball around with no threat or movement and by reselecting players who, for valid reasons, the fans have lost faith in. There was no reaction from the crowd to going behind. But who can blame us when we see that the team could have played until Saturday and still wouldn't score. Why focus on saving players for Spurs, when the win tonight was more realistic? I thought Selles claimed that he was only ever looking at the next game? Instead, we blew any momentum that we had by some terrible negative and ineffective football. Please can someone ask JWP to play a forward pass? Or ask the team to move more to receive one? Best player on the pitch tonight for me was ABK. Showed hunger and even looked to join the attack, unlike our midfield for most of the game. |
| Your Report | Southampton v Leicester City Your Report added at 23:40:09 I'll give the win to the fans tonight. The way that they got behind the team after the missed pen carried the players and gave them the energy to set the game out |
| Your Report | Southampton v Leicester City Your Report added at 23:35:29 Thought it was an even match, with Leicester having the better chsnces. Fortunately, they fluffed their shots in a similar way to us earlier in the season. I think Selles can count himself lucky. I felt that every sub that he made, acted to give more impetus to Leicester. No idea why Che or Theo were subbed when they were still being so key and involved in the action. Especially when we saw Armstrong manage to kick off into space, not under pressure from the penalty spot. Moi was terrible, worked hard to not be involved. Any touch he had seemed to end up with the opposition. An he almost gifted the goal at the end by not getting anywhere near to cutting out the cross. Selles needs to stop giving failed players more chsnces, show some balls and clear out the bench. Give a few youngsters a chance. They could on no way do any worse than the time wasted playing a raft of sub standard professionals |
| Your Report | Leeds United v Southampton Your Report added at 02:59:13 Feels like we completely played into their hands. We seemed to sit too deep and the players didn't act as a unit when trying to transition the play. It was frustrating to watch. Leeds persistently swamped our attacks and we didn't have enough creativity to stretch Leeds. Players took too long to move the ball about, and the hesitancy in our play, taking that extra fraction to choose a pass or take a shot killed us. 2 shots on target all game was appalling. Where were the crosses?!? Saying that, Walcott and ABK should have scored. |

| Your Report | Southampton v Manchester United Your Report added at 15:51:12 Saints were unlucky. Che will be kicking himself for being so profligate with the great chances he had at the beginning of the game. We were so unlucky not to equalise with the phenomenal overhead kick (whoever that was). Bella-Kotchap is a beast of player. Hope we can keep him past this season |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 01:38:22 Dixiefrog your optimism sounds reasonable re luck, in the context of 1 match. Though when you weigh it up against 6 losses out of 7. It's too much of a leap to argue we are just unlucky |
