What was the excuse our other players on the pitch, we were steam roller by Wycombe they out fought and out played us, there was a number of first team players who played badly.

Swansea City : The hardest one so far ? The complete low down for Swans fans
at 23:00 1 Oct 2024

Actually disagree thought Darling had one of his better games, more controlled against a awkward centre forward winning most aerial battles and aided progression down the left hand side which was far better than the progression on the right hand side. Tymon struggled in his defensive duties while Darling didn't, Bristol had more success down our righthand side as the same centreforward targeted Cabango who was saved from his mistakes by our goalie good saves.
I have been quite critical of Darling with his loss of focus but could not complain about his game against Bristol, nice to see a calm head on his shoulders for a change and he made some vital challenges defensively

Saw a couple of challenges when he played for us which were questionable, over exuberant and also left himself open to injury.sometimes natural skill can't disguise bad descions making.

It is my opinion that against Norwich because Grimes press higher up the park, Cooper and Franco have less work to do as the whole team pushes up. The one who tired was Grimes so I tempted to take Grimes off for Allen and bring Abdulai on for tone of the other two, Cooper had a full game Sunday and Franco was taken off so expect Franco to stay on and Cooper to come off on Wednesday being replaced by Abdulai or would Fulton get the nod?

Did he rest Key on Saturday so he could have his best team starting on Wednesday.

With the fullback pushing up so high the channel in behind gets blocked by the player dropping back to mark said fullback.
When the full backs have started from a deeper position we saw Ronald and Parker have lots of space both inside and outside the defending fullback and more one on ones.
Not saying fullback should not join the attack where ever possible but first let the ball do the work then as the spaces open up the fullback can exploit gaps both inside and out.
One game before Parker was injured and was doing well both him and Abdulai were playing on the right Abdulai starting deep looked comfortable coming forward with the ball never gave the ball early enough until he run into congestion, not saying he didn't look to create things but Parker had his worst game and never saw the ball until it was too late and the spaces were closed down.

Find space early and pass the ball quickly before spaces for other players get closed down.
As for Ronald's reluctance to cross the ball are we back to Martin's tactic of not crossing the ball until we find the prefect ball?

Was putting balls in when Cullen was in the box but not when Vipotnik was, a change of tactics to suit Cullen being used for Vipotnik?

Mobile phone use in Swansea.com
at 10:45 1 Oct 2024

The mobile towers were originally built for carrying speech channels only about 30 conversations at a single time, they have been since been updated to carry a lot more traffic be it speech or data but has a limit as you say and cannot cope with the amount of data being used.
EE towers struggle to supply the data speeds required to provide data and speech in Neath at times resulting numerous lost calls, it is the same on the towers around the stadium area on match days.
Seeing as the clubs ticketing is now expected to be on the mobile phone the club should supply free WiFi all around the ground because the mobile phone towers cannot cope with the demand as they designed to cope with normal usage not the peaks of match days.
There is free WiFi in the Mel Nurse bar that works well presume there is similar in selected areas of the ground but it should be extended to everywhere in the ground and the immediate area around the outside of the ground to enhance the matchday experience.
As for ticketing I always carry a screen shot of my seasin ticket.

Think I got my games mixed up thinking more of the Wycombe game which then makes nonesense of my view being from the East stand as he played all that game, he is a big unit but I wouldn't hold that against him but what is being asked of him.
I thought he had a good touch on him, prepared to give him time to settle, then again I liked Pedersen but obviously not first team standard according to Williams all about opinions
Need to see more of Bianchini before making judgement

If we are talking about the same game he came on the right wing in front of the West stand so the view from the East would be differcult to see if he was carrying a bit of weight but from what I saw he looked as if he was trying different things to try and open up a stubborn defence with very little movement around him, movement that would have helped created the space he was looking to play for but as we have seen also with Abdulai and Ronald very little is being created further up the pitch on the right especially by the time they come on Naughton is on the pitch and won't go beyond them, the support and movement that is being offered on the left seems much better.
Key and Ronald are not quite clicking yet but that can take time.

Players of a certain ilk and skills not able to play the way a manager wants to and gets discarded, we have seen seemingly good players ignored for various reasons when their skills seem to be what is missing from a team.

Haven't seen the highlights but at the time it did seem as if there was a bit of pushing going on and I was half expecting to see a free kick given.

Of course he needs to be given some slack it is early in the season just hoping he can service our better players to be able to play to their full potential making sure we kill games off instead of losing points that in games that we have been so dominant in the first half.

Naughton and Tymon enabling us to play through the middle for my mind Naughton got there too early and then seemed at a loss, does he go beyond Ronald down the wing or drop to provide options for Ronald caught in two minds and did neither. There was one noticeable case that Naughton was up field and the rest of the defence didn't fill the gap left and it left us badly exposed on our right.
Thought we let wingers running at our full backs pushing them back into the box or allowing crosses instead of ensuring they were marked correctly not allowing balls to their feet while ensuring they are not open to the ball over the top. Sure Stoke fans questioned Tymon's defensive game and Key seemed more comfortable in the middle of the park on the left last season

I do appreciate his decision making for his final ball hasn't improved since he has been here, initially I suspected him trying too hard and not looking and expecting players to be aware of how he played being new to the team but now think he is playing the style asked of him, that we saw under Martin which in many cases keep the possession until the perfect scoring chance arrives but we haven't got a Ntcham, Piroe or Paterson in the team to make use of small spaces created.
Really think he needs to have the ball earlier and up the pitch so he can take defenders on one on one and not coming back to fill the space left by Naughton in the right back position to play the safe ball as so many of our forward players have been programmed and forced to do, instead of being high up the pitch on the back of fullbacks who are not as physically strong as him.
We have seen how quick thinking players can open up games but we seem to have to play to the formula.

The point I was trying to make was that our starting eleven have to be unable to adapt which we didn't against Cardiff or Bristol, is it the substitutions that changes the games or having players able play in a different style, a more cohesive and well coached team can adapt to counter different situations, we didn't even with our starting eleven as for players who step up how can they if they are asked to play in the style that has already been counter successfully by the opposition manager?

Ronald is not being given the space by the fullback pressing so high it drags a midfielder back to close any space down and he must now stay out wide, this is done because this is how Williams tells his players how they must play. When Ronald first came here he was looking to hit the channels between the full back and centrehalf pulling players out of position, even making Cabango's through balls look good and allowing Ronald to get in good positions in the box to cause problems, this has stopped! "you must play out wide" is stifling his game and any other player be it Bianchini or Abdulai it is almost like telling a play to stop playing.

And yet against Cardiff it was not when our substitutions were made we struggled it was from the start of the second half and with our first team selection on the pitch we did not counter their new setup similarly yesterday they made three changes in the 58th minute that changed the game, we tried to countered it with Key on the 61st minute who you would count as a first choice player but it had little effect as we tried to play the same way, they stopped us playing down our left and we were still ineffective on the right they pressed forward we dropped off it was not the result of our substitutions two more which came in 73 minute and the last Abdulai in the 89th it was same as the Cardiff game we did not counter the change in tactics.
