In his Shrewsplayer interview today Graham Turner confirmed he has received one solid enquiry about taking one his players on loan this week. |

Very good player is Terry but, like several of our players, his confidence looks shot at the moment. He's also just coming off the back of an illness so I'm not sure if he'd be okay to play this weekend. We had an enquiry for Grimes rejected earlier this season so maybe we're in for him again, but the Luke Rodgers story is certainly gaining some momentum and he does look to be leaving Pompey this week for a destination as yet unknown. Terry was superb last season, particularly as we closed in on promotion and he looked on fire in pre-season but as it took him longer and longer to break his League 1 duck his confidence gradually evaporated to the point where he was a shadow of the player we had last season. |

If you're wanting a target man then Symesy isn't your man, if you try and play it to him as if he's a target man you'll be disappointed. But i'm sure John Coleman knows this. Symesy is a really classy player if teams play to his strengths, and that's the ball to feet. Despite his size he's not great in the air, but get it to his feet and he can link play and really make things happen. His awareness of space, his ability to find space and of those around him is excellent. Think in terms of a lower league version of Teddy Sheringham. |

From the Shropshire Star today... "Meanwhile, Town today dismissed weekend speculation linking Gornell with a switch to League One Rochdale — where his former Accrington manager John Coleman has just taken charge." On the comparison between clubs. I'm not sure of the state of Dale's finances these days but i'd hazard a guess that they're someway short of ours? We comfortably average over 5000 gates, turnover around £4.5 million, have plenty of money in the bank, have no debt and a wholly owned stadium that provides income seven days a week. Yes we've been trying to get out of League 2 for some seasons now, as were Dale before they eventually managed it. Like a lot of other Town fans I happen to think we have a better squad this season than during any of the previous near miss seasons, but whether that's good enough this time around only time will tell. This isn't meant to be in any way a detrimental view on Dale which I think is a great club, well run and with excellent fans. The only reason I could see Terry being tempted is the Coleman/Bell link but I also know he's very happy at Town at the moment. |

http://www.greenhous.co.uk Local company with very long and strong associations with the club, going back to before we first joined the Football League in 1950. [Post edited 1 Jan 1970 1:00]

The lad took a right battering of that Liam Dickenson last weekend and is out for 4-6 weeks. Maybe if you offered £200,000 plus Ashley Grimes we might be interested in doing some business for Gornell. |

Now I have a soft spot for Dale as some of you i've come across in the past will know. But in the nicest possible way, you can feck right off on this occasion. |
