Gaffer on today's defeat
at 00:38 23 Feb 2025

I think Marti would have been within his rights to criticise the players more. I don't think it was a case of Portsmouth being mightily difficult or their style of play being impossible to deal with. They had one good player (Murphy). I think the blame for today lies at the hands of the team, for whatever reason, the urgency for quality throughout the team wasn't good enough. Hopefully they are on song against Sheff U.

Away form?
at 19:23 22 Feb 2025

Not sure we have had any real away 'form'. We've by and large parked the bus and have picked up points from goals on the break. That said, we had the opportunity to dominate today but the tecnhincal quality was poor and let's face it, it was never going to be good enough with 2 out and out defensive centre mids and Ashby and Lloyd brought on to try to salvage something out of the game.

Marti probably can't decide who to take off. Everyone bar Saito has been poor

Quite poor in terms of quality so far. A bit disappointing given the 8 day break and time on the training ground. Desperately needs someone to put their foot on the ball and give us a bit of quality in their half. Not going to happen today though with Lloyd the alternative to Frey and no Kolli to bring a bit of class to our forward play

Squad depth
at 13:49 15 Feb 2025

I think the squad will be fine for the rest of the season but come the summer, quite major upheaval will be needed. We potentially lose some excellent first teamers after June (JD, Saito, Edwards etc), there are a few who are in their limelight (Colback, Fox, Andersen) and a few who don't suit us (Madsen, Celar, Ashby).

I think one or two more of the Development Squad might be able to step up to be squad players but we will definitely need to get some new players in.

How many points needed for 5th/6th?

I'm with Marti and am looking at each game as it comes. It's far more interesting looking at how we approach each game than speculating about what will happen over 13 games.

Consistently inconsistent

Teams are always going to be inconsistent. Look up and down the tables, even the big boys are inconsistent. It's been the same every year and it will be for our remaining days.

That's true, but I still think he will make a career for himself in the EFL, possibly in a Championship squad. We will see ....

Vote for Sincs from me (if that is allowed). I thought he was a useful weapon and on many occasions he caused havoc when he came on and brought about a few goals and many goal scoring opportunities. No way would I be writing him off yet. Plus, let's not forget, he is better than Celar, who we spent his fees on.

That was a very high intensity game last night with both teams going for it in every position on the park from the first minute to last. Furthermore, if we want to progress then that is the way it is going to be because we are not going to able to stroke the ball around without being put under duress in this League. Madsen is not going to be able to play with that level of bite and speed. The club needs to shop around to re-house him. Hopefully something can be organised for the summer.

I thought Roeder as well. I would love to see that moment at the end of the first half when he somehow extricated himself from having their big c/f all over him and then just purred through the midfield.

He looks amazing in the video clip

Good luck to the lad. Must be brave, moving to the other side of the world, aged 18.

At least he played within his limitations there and didn't seem to spend his time thinking he was Billy Big Bollocks while kicking the ball out of play every time he got it.

Dunne off?

I'm always quite surprised by how we seem to think that the grass is so green at QPR and that any player should feel an over-riding desire to stay here. I'm sure Sheff Utd, Boro, Swansea, Cardiff and any other Championship team that players from QPR have gone to recently have just as slick set-ups with good camaraderie, facilities, player-fan relations etc etc. I know there are exceptions but you can generally count on one hand the number of players who we have bought who have stayed with us out of an affiliation to the club.

Unlucky second half. Gave it a good go. Was half expecting us to come out and play turgidly. Looked good going forward, less so at the back - unusually

Not sure how Leyton Orient line up but I'd be surprised if he can be a lone striker, which is what Marti employs, so I can't see him making it with us.
