So to be clear, I don't really disagree with most of that. Players come and go, transfers happen, the earth goes round etc.
The reason I don't like Nourry or people like Nourry isn't really related to transfers. I just don't like the culture changes that come with those kind of appointments. The spin, the manipulations, the marketing, the commodification of things that are supposed to bring us joy.
All the reasons people don't like modern football really.
My original point was more about those that will defend him to the point of obnoxiousness. If they want to claim credit for Varance, Kolli, Morgan or Lloyd (which some of them have) then you got to take the losses too. Losing Dunne on a free or a panicked pittance would be error on Nourry's part as much as getting Kolli a new deal was a success, if that was what happened.

I agree and it looks mad in hindsight.
The only thing I can think of is that you only get a small window to vote and it just takes a month of that window of him acting like a spoilt shit to ruin his chances.

That would have been the case here too if the timing was different so not sure it would make a difference to the point I was making.
Edward’s could have sat on his contact at either Barnet or Peterborough but not sure it would have done his development any good. As has been said recently, all about timing but mandating a % fee of all career transfers into the origin club will encourage the Barnets to grow more of their own players. |
