| News Comment | Redmond Is Saints Most Influential Player Fact ! at 21:28:15
Of course Redmond and Tadic have the most chances created they play almost every game and all our play goes down either wing. If anything this emphasises the fact we need to change our style and or sign some better creative players more suited to our team and tactics |

That guardian reporter clearly was watching a different game! We never truly 'outfoxed' their defence all our best chances were from outside the box. Most of the game we just passed it around the midfield where both teams were comfortable. That quote from Gerrard highlights exactly what we need, not a complete new plan but a variation of plan A, the trouble is we don't have any variation just a very rigid plan A. Yes liverpool dominate possesion but they have one of the best strikers in the world who can finish their chances, if we had Suarez on Saturday we probably would have one the trouble is we don't have that quality of player and at the moment we aren't in a position to bring that type of player in. Therefore when things are going against us we need to change things to allow the players we do have to have a better chance of scoring. I don't think we should replace Poch. yet, we need to give him a chance, if he can realise that sometimes you need to have variety he can be a world class manager, however, if we spend another season doing exactly the same things we aren't going to progress. |

I'm with Nick, just because we have a philosophy doesn't mean we can't have a plan B, doesn't mean we can't pick youngsters on the bench. What is the point in having Guly on the bench at this point in the season, I'm not a Guly hater, but he's 32 and out of contract at the end of the season the likelihood is that he won't be staying, so why not try one of these promising youngsters? In regards to a plan B, we don't have to go all out hoofball as a plan b but it was clear after half an hour that, firstly, what we were doing wasn't working and, secondly, we didn't need all three of Davis, Cork and Morgan, we needed something different. Also, the use of Clyne and Chambers, it seemed to me that we used Chambers when we want more defensive cover and Clyne when we want a more attacking threat, so why wasn't Clyne starting? and your comments regarding Allardyce are irrelevant no-one is calling for us to play hoofball every game, but when Plan A isn't working we need to try something different. I would rather be 8th under Poch. than 6th under Allardyce too, but that doesn't mean we can't improve and we can't find a way of both having a philosophy and also being able to change things and win games. |
| News Comment | Goals Do The Talking at 14:25:18
I feel the problem has to be tactical or down to the midfield rather than the strikers. As Lambert struggled as the lone striker at the end of last season, and Osvaldo struggled as the lone striker against Man U. Clearly then it has to be either the tactics or the supply from midfield. What is clear is that with the goal scoring records of these two they should have more than 3 goals from 8 games. |

I think the starting line-up was a strong indication of how Pochettino would have started against wba, it was the same line-up he seemed to favour last season with the addition of Lovren and Wanyama and with replacements for clyne (injured) and Yoshida and Ramirez who probably won't start due to playing in Japan on Wednesday. Obviously it won't be his final decision but I think he played that line-up to finalise what he has in his mind as our line up for Saturday |
