Ya, we're getting into ITK territory now.

Opinions have given away to 'facts'.

Still, no cheese preference.
Won't someone please think of the cheese?

Quality conversation. On so many topics. SO many topics!

I'm up the walls these days (whatever that means), so not posting much, but I've enjoyed dipping in and out of this thread.

(Welcome Steve, by the way, by the sounds of your LSA trips, I'm sure we've done many miles together).

I don't think we should be afraid of our crew of fans having differing opinions. As long as we've all followed the R's it's always been that way. We're going to have differing views on Nourry and Cifuentes, as we did on Thompson, Gregory, Hateley...ok, maybe not on Hateley. Sorry!

I'm just glad I support a club that has members that are capable of thought and debate.

Watched 'Black Bag' last night.

Kind of a modern 'Tinker, Tailor..' with it's slow-paced low-action chase for the mole, but not in the same league as that classic.

Solid, but forgettable.

Sounds about right.
Colback for Morgan, though?
Otherwise, dead right about keep it simple.

Fair play, Macclesfield.

I think you're obviously right that it's too early to tell in some cases.

As of now, I'm not as high on some of the deals as you are, but hopefully a couple will settle. My main concern, though, is the balance of the squad and the lack of depth in a few key areas - left-back, right-back, midfield, strikers.

After all, we did have a really good spell when we had enough fit players. It's the lack of depth that's killed us.

Both are good.

What also works for me is an old audiobook. I drift off fairly quickly either when I go to bed or - as happens more as I get older - when I wake in the middle of the night. Has to be an old audiobook, though - new ones keep me awake and awaiting what happens next.

Hope you're right, Ned.

I don't think he's perfect - the midfield experiment at the start of the season, for example, was curious - but he's as good as we've had in a while imho.

Shouting cyclists.

Early in the weekend mornings, while young and old try to grab some well-earned sleep, here they come, through villages and lonely lanes, shouting at the top of their fúcking voices.

You're going at two miles per hour, ye tubby lycra langers.
Why in the name of God are you shouting to each other?

I agree it's not all down to Nourry. I actually think that it's down to the owners for giving a novice both jobs. Or either job.

There was a Gaelic Footballer being interviewed live on RTE once after losing a big game when an old fan interjected and shouted " 'Tisn't your fault, boy. 'Tis the bastárds who picked you!"

Yes, well, true.

But we did an extensive audit.
And the main conclusion from that was that Nourry came highly recommended by...ahm...Nourry.

I'll stick up for you, to an extent, Logman.

I posted this to my WhatsApp crew at HT, and no-one disagreed:

"I'm pleased with that half.
Quality is questionable, but attitude is good."

Second half fell apart, predictably, as our injured players were replaced by other injured players, played out of position by neccessity, and gassed.

Given our recent form and given our injury crisis, I reckon the older heads in the dressing room will think that that was a job done.

And, if they did, I'd agree with them.

Agreed.

To be expected, though?

Field off, Varane's first appearance in ages, on.
Andersen off, development player on.
Lloyd (centre-forward) off, Dembele (winger) on.
