Good stuff as usual - captures the mood. I'd have swapped Nardi and Saito's scores around though - thought Koki was quality on Saturday just about every time he touched it. I find myself wimpering that we don't deserve him at the minute, but nobody has the energy to give me a well deserved slap. Noticed Saito getting a good bit of respect from the Stoke players at the end too. For the goal, yes Jimmy fcuked up that was clear, but Smyth really did nothing to help when he easily could have. Penalty-leg tangle aside he was poor I thought. |

My one faint hope is I think Nourry probably pays a certain level of attention to message boards, twitter etc, in terms of fans ' opinions, mood etc. That injury update felt like an example. So if he decides to go through with making Marti the scapegoat (not that Marti is completely blameless) he'd hopefully have some awareness of how that would be received. Marti went about as far as he could in that interview to describe the issues in the background. |

He could also be pressuring Ruben and co. He might have decided it's Nourry Geller or him. There was good support for Marti at times today which he mentions. Was he told he had to win today? I did wonder if we chose to attack the Loft first half as a tactic. I also noticed Clive mentioned Nourry's hanging around training at the minute. Not hard to imagine how irritating that would be. |

I thought it wasn't the worse idea, until he started moving towards the ball. Was all downhill from there. The body language on these players is dreadful anyway. We have DMs but no CMs. Good work Christian you cocky fcuking man child. |

I'm really only tangentially familiar with NAMBLA, but not so much with NAMCLA. Each to their own again I suppose. [Post edited 22 Nov 20:20]

Great read. I only occasionally deal with trains outside London I must admit. M'colleague who I sit beside in T block would be able to empathise - have been getting recent updates of regional train-horror on the same trips. I did experience a bank holiday trip from Whitby a bit like you describe, but that was massively saved by the steward who was manning the alcohol trolley-thing basically giving up trying to get through, and abandoning it outside the toilet we were leaning against, mumbling, almost imperceptibly "free bar". It took a couple of minutes for it to sink in and then 6 hours of looting ensued with all sorts of people who wouldn't have normally interacted getting hammered and falling about on each other. But those things only happen once. |

Not criticising the discussion by any means, but I've had enough of thinking about this question now. Whichever collection of slobbering gimps gets selected tomorrow I want them to find a way, fair means or foul, to score 2 goals. That's all I want. Two goals at home. For the second time in 18 games. |

She has witnessed a lot of pain and suffering - could work from that perspective |

I can understand the negative comments about the number of pages this thread has now reached, and what have we really decided, if anything, to do. But I think there's something to be said for the fact that the vast majority of people seem to agree that, if anything is going to change, it shouldn't be the manager, as is so often the case, but the CEO. I expect Nourry will be banking on that standard approach of churning through managers, but if those who disagree can get behind Marti vocally at the next game, I think that can send a message of sorts. I said before, one simple way to do it could be to sing the Marti song from the off, and regardless of how the team are performing tbh, which will be the difficult part. |

They should be dropping it on our tongues just before the turnstiles. Three burly stewards on hand for those who resist. |

Clive you've become the Gogglebox of Twitter. And like Gogglebox it's the closest I'll ever get to most of the actual content, thankfully. |

One simple way would be to get back to loud and sustained singing of the old 'eats paella, drinks Estrella' song. And that should be regardless of what's happening in front of us on the pitch - in fact the worse the performance the clearer the point would be. |

I think crying would be the better option at this point |

I think one factor for sure is Hoos was completely burnt out and desperate to leave. I know he'd been in this country a long time, but in my experience, American interviewing processes are quite different to here. I'm not saying one is necessarily better than the other, but it's not unusual over there to identify a someone and then just hire them, without a competitive process. Nourry had perhaps done a decent job on the audit, was full of energy and ambition, so Hoos convinced Ruben and co to just let him leave and give Nourry the job. Seems increasingly obvious that's what happened here. |
