I'm just highlighting what a lovely town it used to be a proper community where everyone did know everyone in a only kind of way Welsh people do but now the heart and soul has been ripped out of the place, get coppers walking around the streets not silly wardens get them engaging with people encourage people to come half price parking, free parking? Better bus connections for example where I live you can travel in our area on weekends for just £1 one way you can travel anywhere! the buses are rammed with people out and about spending money & socialising. You can't get a bus from Birchgrove area to Neath now they have all been stopped? I send an email to Neath & Port Talbot council asking a couple of questions...I'm still waiting the reply
Yeah that was me that mentioned that in Krakow square and I swear on the kids lives that's what happened I'm not saying for one minute they were taken off to Aushwitz but most probably driven out of town a couple of miles and politely told to stay away from the city centre maybe ?
Yeah I know sad init spew, dog sh1te and the smell of skunk everywhere, I had good memories of Neath always really colorful in my mind there seemed to be flower beds everywhere blooming and Victoria gardens, going there on a packed double decker bus from Skewen on Saturday afternoons with my nan with proper busy cafés a bustling market shoppers everywhere then Neath fair in the 1970's where Morrisons car park is now the whole town was packed for that week or so. Then nights out in 1980's early 90's loads of pubs The Dark Arch even the famous Neath Workies.....just another tired unloved place living in the shadows of cardiff, coming through cardiff on the train now is astonishing how it's grown with continuous hotels, offices going up the short sightedness of the Welsh Assembly is so sad and it's killing 80% of this country
I got off the train at Neath a few days ago and wondered around a bit waiting to be picked by my relatives, what has happened to Neath a shell of its proud past of a bustling working class rugby town. I got off the train and crossed the car park footbridge and walked over opposite the old police station just that walk it's self was like walking through Belfast in the 1970's what an absolute mess of a place. This town was built on hard working people proud of their town and history and now it's just boarded up shops, bargain booze and chavs screaming at each other I haven't been to Neath for at least 10yrs and was totally gobsmacked by the state of the place.
Luck, Confidence, Bullshit and as long as that cycle continues your laughing but once one of the LCB stops you're fecked.
My brother was a contractor for the MOD and floated his luck for over 3yrs getting paid 70K a year but didn't have a clue what he was doing just passed emails along and agreed with the majority in meetings and zoom calls. They send them to Cyprus for meetings for a week, they had one meeting then sat on the beach for 6 days
Yeah I remember coming out after the game to nearest pub where our mini bus was parked by now with about another 10 mini buses all stacked up in the car park and the police with riot helmets on surrounding them waiting for us and us just laughing at them, they looked very agitated I think somebody had pushed the panic button early doors.
Fairply to Swansea fans that day everyone was just chuffed that we were promoted out of the doldrums.
On the way home our mini bus was absolutely minging we had a good clean out at Cardiff gate services 👍🏾
Football away trip in an over filled mini bus Old school ground Pitch Invasions Nice sunny boozy day Promotion A few thousand Swans fans Goalkeeper gets nicked
Not been any Swans away trips like that since.
After the game listening to talksport? A Bury caller calling our fans Scum
In the grand scheme of things 10 yrs isn't very long but what a different world we all live in now.
Swansea in the premiership playing in Europe, UK in the EU, Cameron prime minister Clarkson in top gear Wales dreaming of the euros Russia preparing to host the world cup Afghanistan still occupied by the west Ukraine living in peace The Queen and her old man were alive Nobody had heard of covid Palestine & Israel were at peace (kind of) The Internet wasn't the cesspit it is now There were only 2 genders All lives mattered Kids weren't as stabbing as they are now Trump was some bloke who owned a big building
The list is endless.... God help us all in 10yrs from now
