It's gone a bit quiet on this front. As discussed in the thread about Bony, it's clear that he is going to score goals for us as he's a great finisher and gets in good positions, but he's also maybe not the quickest or busiest.
Michu is too valuable and too hard working to be isolated in the striker position - we need him in midfield. So when Bony is either not available or out of form it would be great to have another striker (a different kind - as Laudrup suggested).
Do you think laudrup believes we now have enough players (e.g. shelvey in Michus role and Michu a striker) or do you think they're working behind the scenes to bring someone in?
Any chance of getting a big name in on loan ala Ba or Lukaku? |  | | |  |

Should Bony become in available for a match I don't see why we couldn't play Michu up front and then play Pozuelo in behind. From what I've seen so far he's been very good and played in a weaker position out wide and when he's scored both of his goals he's done it going through the middle.
If we can get a quicker striker in brilliant as it would help us change it up a little. I can't see us going for Lukaku as he would want first team football. Bringing in someone like John Guidetti would be ideal for us at the minute. | | | |

We're gonna have 2 games a week for most of the season, and on ocassion 3. That would mean Michu never gets a rest, and if one of Michu or Bony got injured then the other would have to play every single game. We definitely need another striker. |  |

I could see Pozuelo be our backup striker. He is fast, great technic, and clinical when he finish.

Agreed - we have so many games that injuries could really affect us. Last season we were extremely lucky with injuries apart from with Taylor/Vorm. If Michu and/or Bony get injured then all of a sudden we don't have the firepower as we saw with the Fulham game at the end of last season.
It's being greedy I know, but I'd love to see us bring in another good striker as we have so many games...Kone would have been a decent backup earlier on... | | | |

The problem is that Bony is obviously our number 1 striker, so anyone coming in woould know they are definitely a backup and would be very unlikely to become first choice.
I remember Laudrup saying at some point that he wanted a smaller , faster backup striker, although I can't see why Pozuelo couldn't play that role. |  | | |
