Struggling at the moment, to be honest.

Can recommend the following from 2012, though:-

Alt-J - An Awesome Wave (favourite so far this year)
Perfume Genius - Put Your Back N 2 It (laid back stuff, solid)
Sigur Ros - Valtari (they can do no wrong)
Maccabees - Given To The Wild (didn't realise they were up to much, this is a good album)

Anything else doing?

new Dexys album (typical Dexys, great songs, barking mad lyrics)
I've never been much of a Sonic Youth fan but the new album by their guitarist Lee Ranaldo is brilliant.

I'm not really a music man, but recently I've been listening to:

- Sigur Ros (Valtari)
- Archive (You All Look The Same To Me, Controlling Crowds Pt I-III & Pt 4)
- The Temper Trap (The Temper Trap)

I was a big fan of Beta Band and Aliens, so have been enjoying the Django Django album. Maccabees - you'd probably guess it from their names, but at least one big Fulham fan there. The latest Soul Savers album is more of the good, same stuff, but with Dave Gahan rather than Mark Lanegan (whose latest album is pretty good) and Richard Hawley's album's worth a listen.

Fulham FC: It's the taking part that counts

The Maccabees new album was a nice surprise as I didn't rate them live and the first album was a bit boring.

Oh, and the new Dirty Projectors album is worth a listen. Much less try-hard than before.

So far this year, The Cribs', Blood Red Shoes', and Jack White's new albums are all top. Silversun Pickups, Howler, and Tribes all released brilliant albums too. TOY, The History of Apple Pie, Spector and Born Blonde are bands with LP's released around September time who's material so far I really like.

As an avid listener to BBC Radio 6, I find there is always something new and different to hear especially away from the mundane mainstream stuff heard on other stations. Some bands already mentioned seem half decent enough, but for me Alabama Shakes are my tops for 2012 so far. A nice mix of Creedence Clearwater Revival/Soul sound.

There aint half been some clever bastards.

Saw Spector in some little music pub in Guildford, the night before the Man City game. They're a bit lightweight but good fun and very good for a place that size. Didn't think that anyone on here would be into them at all.

Admiral Fallow, a Scottish band, are decent, if a bit Magic Numbers-like.

Some top tips here, thanks all. I always thought The Maccabees were crap but just listened to the album and it's great. Alabama Shakes too

The New Delain album is very good. It's not too heavy and Charlotte has an amazing voice. Think Evanesence tunefulness with better musicians and a beefier sound.

Bruce Springsteen's Wrecking Ball is definitely in tune with the times.

Beach House's Bloom is just lovely. If you only listen to 1 track try the opener "Myth".

Otherwise I agree with Maccabees, Alabama Shakes and Alt-J. Also worth trying are Saint Etienne and Scool of Seven Bells.

Shameless Prodigy rip offs (that sound is straight outta "Charley says") but who cares, it's still great:

Changing pace slightly, some ancient rock from Germany, never heard of them until a week ago:

Moving northwards through Europe, it's Finnish heavy psychedelia next:

Finally, a gnarled rocker doing something incredible. Try not to look at the video the first time you listen to this (it's very short anyway), then listen AND watch:
