Please tell me I’m not the only one but as clear an advert for sub standard useless championship “ nobody gives a fcuk” officiating as you can get !
2 maybe 3 blatant yellow card fouls on Alfie today and not even a free kick ? Astonishing!! Guessed half the game and 4 minutes added time of which he played about 3 and a half
Absalute vankr, reminded me of the Southampton away game last season

Disclaimer , not the reason we lost but didn’t help the cause much either !

Funnily enough , the wall fans thought he was fking useless aswell

I didn’t think we could of got any worse than the prat we had last week but I was wrong
A total Homer who gave us fcuk all
Alfie Lloyd was kicked all over the park and got nothing
These refs have to be on the take

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

Don’t forget the blatant elbow to the face - Alfie will have a little shiner tomorrow.

Those possessed by devils, try and keep them under control a bit, can't you ?

as usual we get a weak ref at the den, he let 3 or 4 near assaults go , linesman missed a few offsides too.
they get intimidated by the home fans , every time.

First half particularly seemed determined to give us nothing and when he had no choice a booking was out of the question. The one where Smyth was stopped from taking a throw was a nice, cosy chat to please not do it again. Goalkeeper take as long as you like mate.

Would like to see the elbow (or not) again to say either way. Tanganga and Cooper should really be sending the referee some sort of gift basket after that.

But- bring Frey on earlier and give a bit back. Maybe play Colback somewhere like that where you know they’ll be in your face. All a bit nice and meek as it was last week when we’ve got Cook, Fox and Field out there who should be giving as good as they get.

Yes the ref was rubbish the throw in incident some blatant professional fouls that were yellows ordinarily… as for the 4 mins should have been at least 6.. time wasting in the 4 he did not add on…but as others said not the reason we lost.

I didn't think he was bad. Alfie has to be a lot stronger/smarter. Defenders are not going to get put of his way ( see Cook's blocking off Cooper, as per Sinton comment), so you're nit going to get FLs for running into them. Ref is not going to give what he doesn't see, I.e. the whack in the face.

It was feisty without stepping over the line.

I reckon fifa should introduce Substitute Refs... at half time chat to both coaches and captains and decide if he needs subbing.

I thought Alfie got fouled a lot but there were also times where he got bullied. Was calling out for Frey sooner. It started well with him getting behind them but that kind of stopped

Clearly in the market for an easy afternoon. May as well have just let Cooper do it.

Useless referee and completely one-sided. How Connelly wasn’t booked for his assault on Smyth.
1. It was Rs throw
2. He grabbed Smyth by the collar and threw him to the floor
3. He kicked the ball at him as he was on the ground

Gave them licence to do what they wanted after that. One of the worst performances by a ref I have seen in years

Exactly carbon copy of the Wednesday ref. P#ss weak.
For Smyth read Lloyd.

It's being so happy that keeps me going.

As others have said it was the stoppage time think that was the "best". They had substitutions including fat boy Connolly taking 30 seconds to get off the pitch; the game re-started at around 90:40. Then the final goalkick. The ball went out at 93:20 and I said to my lad, this 'keeper will take until 94 to kick it and this tosser will blow straight on 4 minutes.

Stop the f**king clock when the ball is out of play FFS!

He was abysmal.

Can we go out yet?

Yeah

I mean Alfie has a lot to learn
In a few years time he’ll be able to anticipate a forearm smash in the mush off the ball as he runs into space for a channel ball.

Ref had a great game and wasn’t a fat off the pace gutless homer at all

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

The first foul on him that wasn’t given was borderline assault!
Referee was useless.

To be fair, from the Millwall end; I thought he gave a few in our favour… especially liked (and I mean that) when he waved play on as Edwards lifted their guy and placed him into touch in the second half.

Of course, I took the opportunity (under cover) to testiculate at their player for not playing the Millwall way.

Yup. I'm always amused that the referee when we win is very decent and when we lose is arm-waving incompetent fool, or timid incompetent.

That was lenient on the home team in the extreme though. Not to book the full-back towards the end for taking out Saito was just rank, weak officiating along with various other decisions.

I've seen worse but it was a fairly typical Busby performance.
As in the home game, what should be bookings early on are just given a 'stern' talking to and he makes a rod for his own back.
Open house from then on and he was lucky that it didn't blow up on him.

He got several dodgy calls for cornwrs and throw jns though.

Thought he was consistant in not handing out cards, didnt feel particularly biaed, just not very good.

Why stop now, just when I'm hating it

I think the referees have always (in general , not always) sided a bit with the home team as I think it’s just human nature . It should’nt be but it has always been there .
I just think it’s got significantly more prominent over the last few years .
I mean we have got some incredible decisions at home recently so my point isn’t about yesterday so much as in general .
The Den must be a very difficult place to officiate at , even more so running the line .
Again, human nature comes into play and it’s one of the reasons why going to The Den is so difficult and it should be like that at LR. But it hasn’t been in recent times .

Having said all that , I saw another ref yesterday phone it in and try to get as smooth a ride as possible . Lloyd got zero from the ref and deserved at lest some protection .
But that’s been a trend in itself this season that I’ve mentioned before on here.
Our strikers don’t seem to get the protection you see others teams forwards get .
Kolli gets nothing in the games he’s played .
Experience must play a part of course but Cooper yesterday pretty much did what he liked including flinging an arm into Lloyd’s face ….nothing .

I think there is a trend that VAR has brought into football and that referees have become lazy . Refs in the EPL now just solely rely on someone else to make a decision and unfortunately that is filtering down to the lower leagues . Buy there is no ‘overview’ in the lower leagues so bad decisions just go unfiltered.
Gavin Ward drives me mental but give him his due …he has the courage to give what he sees and doesn’t lose his nerve if he has to make a decision .
I don’t however know the stats for him on big decisions for home teams versus away sides . I would warrant that he is more comfortable given big decisions for the home teams versus away, as we saw against Plymouth and Stoke this season .

Interesting how we all see it differently, my perception is that the level of "home cooking", while still there for all the reasons you explain, is way less of a bias than it was in say the 90s, where the visibility was less than it is now, and the likes of Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford were just allowed to referee the game themselves

I'm sure if we were wining 2-1 he wouldn't have only given 4 mins injury time and blown early anyway

He's not why we lost but he was really poor and gave the feeling of someone who couldn't be bothered
