Only a small venue, but that might be a good thing.

Anyway tickets on sale

I assume he'll open with the line "ever get the feeling you've been cheated" and roll out Sport Republic and Martin

And then lead into a rendition of ‘Problems’……

Ready and waiting to mop up those European places......

I went to the Thornden Hall a couple of weeks ago for an evening with Martin Fry (of ABC fame).

Great little venue to be honest. Martin Fry was answering questions about his life/ABC etc and sang a lot of songs with a stripped back acoustic band. Very personal venue if you know what I mean. And I spoke to the man himself for a few minutes & had my photo taken with him too. No queues at the bars either!

It's worth looking out for these smaller places for a bit of atmosphere where you get a few "names" from the not too distant past playing there. Central Hall in Soton is one (saw Rick Wakeman there a few years ago) and The Regent in Christchurch occasionally, but also the obvious Brook and 1865

I saw Therapy? at the 1865 on Tuesday night.

Belter of a gig.

Poll: Would you take Ward-Prowse back?

Damn!, I would have gone to that if I'd known.
Saw ABC at the Palladium in February and they were good and great fun.

As said on here earlier, deffo should keep an eye on smaller venues for upcoming events.

Was a great evening Baltimore - a really relaxed, chilled out night/event. Martin Fry has got an autobiography out, hence the tour. He was sat in an armchair answering questions about his life and growing up in Sheffield with the punk movement & then the new romantic scene, etc. He was good friends with many of the bands around back then as they used to appear at the same venues & festivals. He'd then get up to the mike & sing many of ABC's hits (acoustic) before answering more questions & so on. I've seen two other bands I love this year in Oxford at different times, Squeeze & Level 42, but ABC were streets ahead in both sound & sheer class

I saw ABC at the New Theatre, Oxford in 2022 and again earlier this year at The Forum, Bath. Fabulous night both times. As you probably know, ABC do an hour of their hits & after a break, they do the entire Lexicon of Love album with a full orchestra. Martin Fry still sounds terrific all these years on & has still got a great voice.

I did ask him on the night if he was going to tour next year & he said he was hoping to tour with the full orchestra again in 2025, so keep an eye out mate.
