Trust update - meeting with the chairman on 17:27 - Mar 4 with 2273 views | Brierls | Good work from the Trust again. To be fair to Simon, despite anything that’s gone before, he does appear to be involving the Trust at the agreed stage. Encouraging to know WSH were introduced by the previously ‘vetted’ individual. Though of course due diligence should be undertaken. Stated aim of promotion back the EFL and developing players suggests decent investment and perhaps a future for the academy. The main worry for some fans has been SG closing the door on other prospective investors. That doesn’t seem to be the case. Again, there is no mention of exclusivity with WSH. My view is the resolutions to be voted on at the EGM gives us hope of attracting a proper investor. That vote has to be ‘yes’. If that then becomes a choice between investors, even better. If WSH are the only investor after discussions with several parties, I’d be happy for that deal to conclude, based on what I’ve found (or not found) so far. [Post edited 4 Mar 17:30]

Trust update - meeting with the chairman on 17:30 - Mar 4 with 2257 views | KnavesmireBob | Cheers 442. Another good update, timely and well written. If there's no more developments between now and the voting deadlines, that's good enough for me now. A big leap of faith and contrary to so many of our values that makes us who we are, but it is what it is. If it all goes tits up in a few years, I'll be happy to have this post referred back to and own my share of accountability. But equally, what makes me more relaxed is the confidence if it all goes tits up in a few years that doesn't mean it'll be the end. Contrary to some of the predictable national media articles being written of late, there'll always be good and wise folk attracted to this football club we're all so passionate about, and as long as that's the case I reckon we'll always have a club to support and a community to feel part of, in whatever form that takes.

If we can't be a "fan-owned" club, owning our decisions in the here and now is something we can do Any future re-sale to malignant parties would have to be addressed as and when, and you're absolutely right to say that wouldn't be the end of Dale. No-one should ever underestimate Rochdalians, it'd be the biggest mistake they ever make
