I THINK I've figured the travel for the 1st game at the non-league stadium/field. Fly to Either Salzburg or Vienna. Get from the airport to the main station. Cheapest I found was fly to Salzburg, back from Vienna (approx £100). Linz flights are all stops in Germany from London and expensive (£220+)
Then it's approx. 1hr 20 to Linz from either.
Get across Linz on the tram/walk to Linz/Donau Urfahr Bahnhof
Linz/Donau Urfahr Bahnhof to Rohrbach-Berg Bahnhof (another hour and 20) 15 min walk to "town" or 25 min walk to the ground. Repeat on way home.
I'm considering going and staying in Linz. Last train appears to be 19.35 from Rohrbach-Berg Bahnhof back to Linz. Only £9 train tho! Winner. Hopefully that means kick off is 5pm at the latest.
This really isn't worth the hassle is it.

Yeh I've made myself stop. Feel so much better for it. Mass mute and block and basically use it for links and jokes now, drive traffic back here and get the hell out.
It was always a bit of a hellhole, but getting involved even in what you initially think is a friendly conversation on there now is just asking for trouble.
I used to defend twitter, saying if you follow the right people etc it's great for info, and also very funny. Now, it's indefensible. Even if you do only follow people you want to the algorythm spits up nonsense whether you like it or not, and one click on the trending topics, which used to be quite fun, is now a vortex of fetid excrement. I very occasionally scroll, but feel so much better being off of it (as with all social media - deleted facebook too). Can't wait for it to finally keel over and die.
Bare bones.

See you there mate. We've snared an Air BNB in that little town saturday night that looks very much like the upstairs room at a sex club.

Playing devils advocate whatever they do is deemed wrong at the moment. Dickie slaughtered all season then the club gets stick for selling. Dykes the same.
We don't like the type of players Ainsworth wants despite not knowing who they are yet and not knowing who we are linked with is equally a problem for some. The academy is apparently dreadful because we're not seeing a production line of players which has been pretty much the way at QPR and clubs with far bigger academies than us since time began.
Now a few pre season games in Austria complained about because it's not easy for fans to get to, is it a training camp we want or a jolly up for fans. We've all done nothing but moan about how desperate we are to see the back of them, calls on social media to boycott games and now annoyed at where a pre season game is being played.
Everything is so doom and gloom at the moment to the point where if they announced tomorrow they were signing Messi people would find a problem with that
We may well struggle next year, it may well be as awful as many are predicting but blimey it's depressing on here at the moment
Tbf most QPR fans I know from going home and away are fairly ambivalent about Dickie, and most of this current squad tbf. I don't mind Ainsworth or the type of player he apparently wants, I love Ainsworth as much as any QPR fan and am desperate for him to succeed even if it means a few years of crap football, but it's completely valid to question how we've ended up in this situation given the recent history of the club and the direction we've been told it's trying to move in. It's not being toxic or negative for the sake of it, it's about ensuring the club is being looked after properly by custodians that can be trusted. The fact it's taken THIS long (I'm talking sensible QPR heads here, not twitter) for people to realise that Les might be out of his depth is IMO evidence that QPR is actually not that bad a gig after all, if you've got the history.
My issue with this tour is not just that fans cant easily get to these games, they could literally announce it on the morning of the game and some fans will get there anyway. It's the way it's been handled from the rumors swirling about Prague, the announcement on the website, the fact they couldn't even give a clear indication of where it's all happening (Evidenced by this thread), the fact nobody could be bothered to call a local hotel and get a "special rate" for QPR fans - I am going to a very niche event in Cambridge next month and even with just 20-25 of us, we've agreed a special hotel rate with Breakfast etc. It really is basic stuff. Why not put on a training session the fans can attend? These are the fans, after all, who've spent a year following you up and down the country, only to spend what was left of their summer holiday money on following you wasters around even more. They might not pay your whole wage, but they contribute to it.
Imo it's evidence of a general apathy within the club that I cannot abide. It's already been described as a rift and I think that's a pretty good way to summarise it atm. I find it sad.

It's disappointing. I was hoping for Salzburg/Innsbruck/Klagenfurt all Euro 2008 grounds. As Martin/Cheshire said a few of us went to Linz the day after the Friday Austria Vienna game to watch Union in 2019 only to find that it was played on the training pitch adjacent to the main stadium. There are two different train companies as well, which they don't tell you, one half the price of the other. Also, they're a week apart, so your hard earned will be stretched. Steyr looks the better bet, I'm not going but I probably will.

Terrible seating, warm beer, volcanic balti pies, ticket price increases and the most dreadful football imaginable, yet still we keep coming back.
And in ever greater numbers.
With tours like this they must suspect we’ll be beating the doors down to get in soon and that 30,000 stadium might be required sooner rather than later.
Treat em mean, keep em keen. It seems to be working.

So spot on, just hope prospective incommers don’t read or listen to any of this when deciding to join or not.

So game one of the new season is nearly upon us. I have decided to go to the Slavia game and I will be setting off on Friday morning. Luckily I can tie in some work commitments that day, then stay overnight somewhere close by and have an enjoyable Saturday - hopefully. It will take me over three hours by car one way and I know friendlies are meaningless, too many substitutions, tired players and the weather forecast says it is going to be hot but you know what? I am really looking forward to the game...

I went to the Vienna game 4 years ago and we had a great time, and the locals we met were very friendly, and they even invited us to their after game party in the local petrol station. Shame that I can’t make this trip, but I know a few are going and I hope they all have a great time too.

And, like I say, it's at a time when they should falling over themselves to get us onside, make us happy, lift the mood. At the moment it's higher season ticket prices, fire sale of players, a seemingly inevitable relegation struggle, attritional football style, manager says he's scared and we should lower our expectations, and you can come on the pre-season tour if you want we'll be playing.... over there, somewhere.
Hopefully one month on, things aren't quite so doom and gloom?
Unless of course we lose every pre-season game, and we can get the pitchforks out again.

Terrifyingly, this is what infant AI will look to, to learn as it grows up and matures, to understand human behaviour, and shape its view on how to behave itself. 2040 and beyond is looking terrifying
