The Flare incident 06:25 - Sep 16 with 38856 views | Dale_4_Life | Has this low life knuckle dragging idiot been identified and banned for life? What an embarrassment to the club.
The Flare incident on 22:30 - Oct 1 with 5242 views | wozzrafc | The aim of the group has to be applauded, ultimately we all want a good atmosphere at the match but while the ‘stupidity’ continues the club will not want to associate themselves with it, quite frankly it can’t. No pyro’s is not a start it shouldn’t have happened in the first place. The intimidation of the stewards, the pitch invasions of previous games as well as the charging to away fans in large numbers will not do anything to help your cause. I know it may not be you (overcoaters) personally and I know you must feel frustrated but ultimately it will reflect. Until this type of behaviour is stopped then I’m afraid you will continue to get no response from the club, and you will start to loose the backing of other fans. It’s a shame as the atmosphere created at the burton game was a real success.

The Flare incident on 22:24 - Oct 1 by D_Alien | Surely the whole point of having a representative from Dale Trust on the club board is to take these kind's of ideas forward? If your emails could be channelled through the Trust, they would surely have a far greater chance of gaining traction? The inboxes of the board members must get pretty full with all the business they have to attend to. Just a thought... There's been plenty of criticism on this thread, including from myself. None of it is directed at you, but whatever influence you have needs to start working before the whole initiative becomes an albatross round the neck of the club instead of a positive way of generating more atmosphere Good luck, if you approach the Dale Trust to help take it forward |
The trust have been contacted on multiple occasions and are the only ones who reply to our emails and help peruse it. It always seems to come to a dead end one way or the other with limited feedback from the club. I'm fairly new to the forum and created an account to help chat about the group and show its trying to be a family friendly and fan lead thing rather just an outcasted group for people to dick about under. After last seasons split in the fan base and split opinions on the drum we wanted to try create something which worked for all and approved the atmosphere.

This is were our issues arise though. The issues will continue if the club doesn't help stop it. Has there actually been any bans for those who are setting the flairs off? If there's no repercussion's enforced for it it'll keep happening. Then we are losing on both parts as we aren't able to get the clubs backing and we've an increase in incidents as we've seen.

Thanks for the response. I'm guessing the Trust itself will be pretty frustrated about all this Beyond the issue of the behaviour of a small group of young fans, there's a bit of an undercurrent around the connection of the board with the fanbase which would be a real shame if it's not addressed, given the wholehearted sense of goodwill that existed (and should still exist) given the efforts of everyone to put the club back onto an even keel The lack of communication about the Overcoaters is a symptom of this. It's understandable that the club might not want to be seen to be siding with unruly young fans but ignoring the issue or dare i say it - issuing tweets - isn't the way to keep the coming together of the entire fanbase over the past 18 months on track [Post edited 1 Oct 2022 22:41]

As I said the sentiment is to be applauded. I think you have shown that when people get behind the incentive in the right way it is a positive change. However the last few games the behaviour of some of those who have moved into the sandy has been anything but family friendly. I was there today with my 9 year old son and the charging towards the wilberts lane on mass was quite intimidating. This is not not a personal criticism against your efforts. Just an observation of what is happening in general.

Well I think you are doing a fantastic job of getting behind the team - much needed after years and years of poor/no atmosphere. Hopefully the flare throwers have got the message now and you won’t need to worry about them.

You raise some good points, and keeping the commutation and relationship with fans is a must if we are to move forward as a club. But surely it starts with the behaviour of the fans. The club has a responsibility to make the COA a safe and family place to be. The fans need to respect that and show respect to the stewards and other fans. It may be a small number but it’s growing, and first and foremost that’s what needs to be addressed.

It's not taken as personal criticism, we understand it has gotten out of control recently and understand why the club currently don't want to be involved. Unfortunately its got the size now that there's not much ourselves can do without club help. We can tweet what we do and don't condone but at the end of the day others behaviour is out of our hands. We'd love the club to get on board even just to help iron out current issues and then possibly look at it being something they'd work alongside in the future when more established. We've reached out to similar groups under the trust recommendation to see how they dealt with similar issues in the hope it helps going forward. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Hopefully its something that can be resolved. We understand why they currently wouldn't want to be associated with it but are hopefully they'll help iron out current issues as there's only so much we can do. Time will tell
The Flare incident on 11:20 - Oct 2 with 4759 views | Dale_4_Life | The Donny fella (bald head green shirt / black back )walked passed 3 or 4 stewards to throw the red flare onto the pitch and looked very pleased with himself. How on earth did he ever get back to his seat and remain in the ground after half time?

He then actually ran on the pitch when they scored, and still didn't get thrown out!

The Flare incident on 12:42 - Oct 4 with 3035 views | rod_leach | I saw a young man among the many running around Edenfield Road and Denehurst Park after the game on Saturday with a drumstick in his hand. One that would be ideal for banging a drum with. If anyone knows him, perhaps they could suggest hiding such an obvious form of ID if he wants to get up to mischief
