Warnock on the make? on 10:05 - May 26 with 5138 views | kingsburyR | Football is bent the world over. With the amount of money sloshing around every grubby hand is in the pot. Am I surprised by this....................NO.
| Dont know why we bother. .... but we do! |

Warnock on the make? on 10:06 - May 26 with 5126 views | Antti_Heinola | Old story - Vine been claiming this for years. I have heard (first hand) that some managers would put a player on for last 2 mins so they can get their bonus, but the manager would get them to split it with them.

Warnock on the make? on 10:12 - May 26 with 5084 views | terryb | It certainly wouldn't be the first time that something like this had happened. That is not to say that this story is true. I've been told that it used to be commomplace that a manager would receive a "present" form the bonus that players received when signing or selling them.

IIRC Jason Puncheon made the same claim about his time under Warnock too didn't he?
Warnock on the make? on 10:53 - May 26 with 4867 views | Northernr | Puncheon did previously say this about him at Palace. Vine made this allegation on Undr the Cosh and they decided to cut it from the episode for legals. Think it's still the only thing they've ever cut from that show.
Warnock on the make? on 12:33 - May 26 with 4566 views | Phildo | I was told in the context of two players moving from another club where a manager was aware of their terms at both clubs they were offered a significant increase on their basic with 6k per game appearance fees thrown in but the any appearance fees had to be paid back to the manager.

It has featured on other episodes (Chris Morgan I think? Or maybe Michael Brown... Certainly someone from Sheff Utd with Warnock) that when they got sent off Warnock would make them write out a blank cheque for the fine and he'd fill the rest in later. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
Warnock on the make? on 13:53 - May 26 with 4194 views | baz_qpr | I used to work with a guy who came from QPR (corporatestaff), I heard a few eye opening stories especially around the time of Ramsey / caretaker role and really not a suprise he was never considered for a return despite the clamour from the fans.
Warnock on the make? on 14:27 - May 26 with 4096 views | switchingcode | Few years back heard a story about agents bunging international managers for giving their players a cap normally in a nothing friendly and never picked again. This would relate to their contracts having clauses that their wages increased by in the case mentioned some 30% this spread over the remaining 2 years of their contract amounts to a nice earner everyone other than the club.I never bothered to check it out but said it was rife amongst the home nations.
Warnock on the make? on 14:43 - May 26 with 4055 views | themodfather | you could imagine a scenario where a player to get a contract renewed on games played, say 30 in a season, that player gets 29 and is on the bench, now he could be sitting on a contract going out the window of say £1m? you could guess an "offer" gets mentioned.... i am not sure how happy i am with a manager aligned to one agent and thereby signing players on his books ie wolves a few years back, worlked for them then but.....not a free market.

That's a long way from blocking a player from playing at all. I was told that iffy Shittu appearance up front v Leeds after we won the league was based on sharing his bonus with Neil. Legend, but one with faults. [Post edited 26 May 2022 15:04]

Warnock on the make? on 15:17 - May 26 with 3922 views | stevec | Along the lines of ‘you’d have to pay me to go to Chelsea’, I wonder if at that point of Vines career Warnock was saying ‘you’d have to pay me to get a game in this team’. I can’t remember Vine getting a single game in the promotion season or even being near the first team?
Warnock on the make? on 16:22 - May 26 with 3774 views | Dixie_CT | APPARENTLY Colin got quite a hefty kick back from Sanny Dhittu signing a contract, apparently! Game is corrupt, it’s rife, yum yum yum

Did he not have his leg broken in half by one of our goalkeepers in training?

Yep...Matt Pickens, an American, wasn't it? 2009ish. I don't recall him ever actually playing for us. Rowan Vine talked about the incident in full detail in Under The Cosh (mentioned above) - not an easy listen...
Warnock on the make? on 20:20 - May 26 with 3189 views | joe90 | Vine comes across as a complete tool. Football is full of horrible people and he’s just another one on that spectrum of unpleasantness. Wouldn’t be surprised if Warnock was up to no good, football is completely bent and we all know that.

No actually quite a painful listen. Great player for us initially, very badly treated (literally) with the injury, but a guy with a hell of a lot of issues. Every story he told involved him being a monumental dickhead, people getting upset with him, and that being their fault. There was one where he’d seen Jimmy Walker and the West Ham lot out for a meal on holiday, so he’d crept up behind him and vomited into his dinner plate, and he couldn’t understand why they might be upset with that. Another where they went for a night out , he ripped somebody’s dress shirt off them, and again couldn’t fathom why that person was passed off they had to spend the reset of the night with no shirt. Two footed somebody on the dance floor after they’d just done a year out with an ACL and, again, their negative reaction was so out of order. Said one year at QOR he went out on eight sepetste club’s Christmas parties in London, coventry’s etc. As if this was great and everybody loved it, when in fact he sounded like a total pain who just kept turning up at other people’s stuff. . Talked about losing six figures in a casino in one night, but in no way that being a gambling problem. It was grim tbh, I was amazed I made it to the end.

Scorer of one of the great comedy QPR goals in an away win at Burnley 2007.
