Couple of inaccuracies

That figure is obviously just a guess as just watching a replay of the winning goal you can see Club Wembley has plenty of empty seats, you can see at least 30 empties in the Cardiff section next to CW, and segregation between 2 sets of fans(50 rows lower, 40 rows x2 upper tiers a generous, probably more 3 seat segregation = 390).
So the official attendance given is 126 short of selling out every seat, impossible.
I've contacted the Police freedom of information request for the real figure and they said not more than 39500

I suspect that many Carlisle fans decided that after ticket sales were over, they just though, "lets go to Wembley again", even though that would be their fifth time. So, the final count included all the media, and Carlisle and Soton fans in club Wembley and elsewhere.
and btw, it looks like Pompey have almost sold their 50,300 allotment, and will be getting another 4-5,000 more tickets. Another record then, and overtaking Millwall's 49,000 and more record for one set of fans at Wembley for an official cup final. | |
