Not a lot of quality football on display but it was good to get a comfortable home win for a change. We had 24 shots at goal and with better finishing could have won by more. After Armstrong scored our 2nd goal in the fifth minute of added time, the crowd were on their feet celebrating until well after the final whistle. Ward-Prowse, Hojbjerg, Armstrong, Stephens, Djenepo ….. all had excellent games and although he didn't have a lot to do, McCarthy looked much more reliable than Reina.
You so often see a goalkeeper come up for a corner in the final minute of added time but they never seem to get punished for it. Well, today Reina and Villa were. Armstrong showed good composure to slot the ball into the empty net.
