Aye - after Alby's worldie to put us 1 up Norman gifted them the equaliser when he kicked it to Lowe to score. It's the cup so we shouldn't fear anyone after beating Millwall,Forest,Leeds and drawing with Spurs at home.

Portsmouth on 20:21 - Nov 12 with 2388 views | James1980 | Pompey, Sunderland, Wimbledon only teams in the above list that have won the cup in the last 50 years. Convincing myself here that we will be a televised game.

Lillis played v Portsmouth. You're thinking of the Walsall game.

Our home form is shite full stop regardless of opposition, in contrast to our away record.

Don't forget we were at the bottom of the table when we played Spurs, and shocked the pundits by how well we performed. Cup games are a bit of an anomaly.

Fully agree it's also much easier to raise your game for a one off match against a prem team full of internationals including the England captain, Pompey at home im afraid doesn't quite pull that much interest however folk dress it up it's a shite draw.

Shite is a tad harsh. Perhaps some kind of reduction on tickets to get a bumper crowd in would be good, especially if it is chosen as a tv game.

We've put in some really good performances at home most recently which gives me hope - I'm glad we are at home and it's the cup so league position goes out the window.

Portsmouth on 19:26 - Nov 12 by DaleFan7 | The way we're playing at home, an away tie probably wouldn't be that bad. Hopefully they have an off day because they murdered us at home earlier this season. |
In the league, at least, Pompey have done better away (15 points from from 8 home matches, 23 points from 9 away, and the only undefeated away L1 side). Still, they won't relish a trip north, and in recent seasons Dale have had some good FA Cup results.
Portsmouth on 21:15 - Nov 12 with 2118 views | D_Alien | I think it'll be a different type of game from when we played them with 3pts at stake In their position, getting promoted has got to be the priority and whilst they're clearly a good side they won't want a replay and it could actually be very open and entertaining They might even rest Pitman...

It's a shite draw, against the top of the league and they're flying and already battered us once, there's plenty of easier possible draws out there, and many more appealing away games. [Post edited 12 Nov 2018 21:26]

Our defence isn't playing as badly as when we played them in the league. Cup games are a one off as has been said, if we do get on TV some players may up their game due to the 'shop window effect.' I know it is not what people were hoping for but no need for such negativity, Pompey are not invincible no reason we couldn't cause an 'upset'
