I reckon there's never been a "worst places" thread in the history of the internet that hasn't featured Stoke-on-Trent, yet based on what the average visitor to S-o-T would encounter I think it measures up pretty well when compared to Swansea. S-o-T's railway station is as nice as Swansea's, its city centre is nicer than Swansea's, its people are generally at least as friendly as Swansea's. Even unfortunately looking at the league table its main football team seems better than Swansea's. But anyway, places I've been where I've thought "OMG" are both merely towns - Rotherham and Colchester. They might be cracking places to live but on the days I was there I felt this seemed improbable.. | | | |
