I believe I must be unique.. 15:23 - Jan 20 with 5783 viewsnantywatcher

...on this forum and in the Liberty because I do not think that one single player in our squad is SH*T. Maybe it's because I watched lower league football before I moved to the area, maybe it's because I played the game for 30 years in preference to watching, but I think some of the opinions are way beyond a joke. I repeat not one single player in our squad is SH*T and now the latest to hit the numpty's SH*T list is Fab. What I would say that is slowly approaching being SH*T is the support the team gets in the stadium. Fans/supporters -really? Give me strength!!

I'd agree with the OP, a few years ago we could only have dreamed of having some of our current players on the pitch. We are indeed lucky to see them at the Liberty.

It saddens me that after the odd bad game we've had comments on nearly ALL the players either "he's s**t" or "should never wear the shirt again", or "stealing a living" etc.

Some of them who post on here seem to have short memories and have turned into the sort "top six" supporters and whinge and whine at set backs. There's no room for gallows humour any more. There's no room for an appreciation of players quirks, its all got very cynical.

I have to admit, though there are one or two players who have not progressed and where they were good enough team players a couple of years ago, the extra TV money has increased the standard and some just don't cut it any more. Mind you many Swans supporters dont realise how severely underfunded we are in comparison to most of the other Premier League clubs, even outside the top six. Clubs like Leicester, Hull, Southampton, Sunderland, Stoke, West Ham etc. have all had extra outside money poured in to them. We have not, that's why there are weaknesses in the team.

Keep shouting for the lads. We can keep doing it against the odds. Enjoy it, despite the cynics and gainsayers.

Is there really that much difference between the bottom 5 or 6 of the Premier League and the top 5 or 6 of the Championship?

This whole 'Premier League' standard of player thing is overstated.

i'd wager we'd lose to Newcastle, Brighton and Leeds away from home, and mixed results at home

Fabianski is to blame for not controlling HIS area, he isn't coming out and taking high balls and his reactions are currently a bit slow against any attempt from within his area.
Plus the stats do not lie, his stop percentage is poor compared to other goal keepers.
Do you watch many other Prem games to see how he compares?

Yes I do, do you? people often blame the goalkeeper, when the real reasons are as I described, admitted he's made a bo bo or two, but so has De-Gea, Cech, Minolet etc etc etc.

Being the last line of defence things stand out dramatically when things go tits up, Fabianski has got to watch everything at once with us the ball the opo and his own players, he's not perfect, but he's not a 20 million pound keeper either and even then things don't always go like they should.

Fab's been fine for us in the past, so his reputation doesn't just stem from Arsenal (quite the opposite - his reputation soared with us in his first season), and it's stating the obvious that Fab and the rest of them are under performing this season.

Like the OP, I don't think any our players are crap. I think they're mostly squad fillers and we miss the extra little bit of quality to make a difference ( the Ash and Ayew issue), but they're not crap.

I've played football for 30 plus years also but has a different view from the OP.

And by premier league standard our players have been sh!t this year.

As for fab he needs to get off his line a bit more & help his defenders out sometimes .

I concur people don't like the truth on here.

What's your opinion of Fabianski then? afterall its all about different posters opinions, truth doesn't enter into it.

Fuk my eyes, you got to be on a wind up either that you've started early on the Dandelion and Burdock if that's the case add a drop of water to it as its far to strong for you.

Agreed Max, if there was anyone in the side that was lacking confidence is poor old Fabs, especially with that clusterfck of a defence in front of him, there I've said it, I know commanding his box blah blah, he was alright when Williams was here.

Most of the players in and around the first team (even Taylor) have shown themselves capable of at least competing at Premier League level over the last five years. Yeah, a couple of them should probably be squad players at best by now, but the squad as a whole has performed well below its capabilities for much of the season.

Handing the reins to Clueless Bob just as performances looked like they were beginning to turn round a bit will have to go down as perhaps the most catastrophic blunder in about three years of them.

Maybe, but if you put the top 5 of the Championship and the bottom 5 of the Premier league into a mini league of their own then 4 of the top 5 places would be taken by the bottom 5 of the Premier league. Nailed on every time.

Most forget roo we came into this league and took it by storm without any "premier league" players!
A well drilled organised team with good coaching which was helped with the addition of some quality in Siggy in that first season ....without whom things may have been different.yes our purchasing strategy may have been to look for bargains likes of Cork and Naughton came form Premier League clubs albeit they were not first choice there.....but from clubs above our league in Spurs and Southampton and we have had a history of taking such players in the past and them becoming gems for us....the difference being the quality of coach. Garry didn't have what Roberto or Brendan had he should never have been given the gig for the following season after stepping in for Laudrup ......HJ made a big mistake there...even though he led us to our best PL position and since that appointment well we all know what happened from there

To the OP. You do realise that Jack Cork plays for us don't you? Though you could be forgiven in thinking he plays for the oppostion given the job he does breaking up our play.

I have questioned whether Fabs positioning and footwork were the cause of his problems he is not Shit but perhaps he needs to go back to the drawing board. I`m not a keeper so perhaps I`m wrong what do any keepers on here think?.

What conditions and circumstances are against him then when he has the ball at his feet and either passes to the opposition, loses the ball or blazes the ball over and wide of the bar then?
It's time the players take responsibility instead of looking for excuses.

I have quite alot in common with the swansea players.
I have an inexperienced manager, american owners who try and impose their way of working and i still perform very well.
A big thing in my company is accountability and things that are out of our control like the manager and owners are called gravity.
They will hold you back if you let them but you can also overcome them.

Were people claiming that Cork was a Championship player when he duffed two defenders and slammed one in from 25 yards against Liverpool?

Performances go up and down. Players don't perform as well in poorly coached sides as they do in well coached ones. I know that's not as fun or as easy for many to deal with, but it's true.

So who tells you y perform well?
What measurements are in place?
Surprisingly today in football each player is measured and performances analysed and then that info fed back to the manager....if things were that bad PC would not pick him or make him captIn!
