Very harsh. He's a championship donkey but a fairly effective (and slightly odd) one. I though he was OK...caused problems and no worse than fer who I like but was pretty average

Totally agree mate, I thought he did really well, but should have buried that header! Think he could become a cult sub.

Polter on 22:35 - Dec 15 by Jigsore | No idea why we don't play Chery over Fer |
Hi, They play Fer so, they can sell him come Jan. And hide Chery who scores more goals, until after the xfer window closes. Banksy was brought in to get the best from the Dutchies and find us some cheap bargains in the lower bins. The fact that he likes high temp pressing two banks of four (Hollerway style) is also great. I suspect this is why Toilet is being played as well. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Bendtner's holding down a regular spot with Wolfsburg, who're fourth in the Bundesliga. He starts occasionally or, more often, is a late sub, like Polter today. He'll never be the sharpest knife in the drawer but he's a much better player than at Arsenal. And if Polter turns out to be as useful for us he'll definitely be earning his keep.

Polter on 07:59 - Dec 16 with 1920 views | johncharles | Like him or not he certainly shook up the Brighton defence when he came on. Most would agree that Fer is a better player but he has an attention span of 60 minutes. After the hour mark he poses no threat at all. Polter was like a fox in the henhouse.

Polter on 08:19 - Dec 16 with 1896 views | paulparker | JFH was spot on in bringing him on, they were down to 10 and we were winning free kick after free kick , he is a big lump and with Dunk off he created panic in there defence, excellent piece of management that , if we still had the last clown in charge he would have probably bought on tozser
| And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot
That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles

Thanks for convincing me how bad Ramsey is. He even keeps making stupid mistakes after he's gone! As a matter of interest, why do you keep criticising him?

that was bad luck, just came on and not into the pace of the game. at least he was in the right spot and in another game it could have been a goal. he has a presence and workrate that disrupts defences. if fer had that in his locker he'd be far more effective as he obviously has ability, but in this division a lot can be overcome simply by working hard. he hasn't had anywhere near enough game time to be judged on, particualrly given the tactics adopted earlier in the season.

what are you his mum ? im making a point or am I not allowed to do that ?? the point I was making was it was good management to bring on polter at the time, the tactics were spot on considering dunk had been sent off JFH went for it with that sub, something Ramsey didn't do or couldn't do now just out of interest why do you keep getting offended when someone mentions how crap he was I don't remember you being so protective over paul hart, mick harford or jim magilton

Polter on 09:29 - Dec 16 with 1580 views | Gloucs_R | Polter looked rusty when he came on but he does pull defenders around and was in line for the header that Charlie scored. He gives us a different angle and defenders dont like that after 80 mins. The whole QPR boo boy thing really pi55es me off. Why cant people give players a run in the team before slagging them off? Furlong took time to settle, Faurlin had promise but took time to setlle in and grow.. even Sir Les was sent out on loan before coming good. I thought Hoilett worked hard last night, who'd have thought hey!

I really love the idea of chasing a game by bringing on Polter, Mackie and Diakite on at 70 minutes to just cause mayhem The other team would probably forfeit the game before the end

i take him down because he was useless and if you read the post i was comparing how a decent manager could spot a game changing sub and how ramsey couldn't , now when we appointed Hughes did you ever compare him to the previous manager when you discussed the game of course you did, when redknapp was in charge did you ever compare him to Hughes , yes you did now im comparing the last manager to the new one or is that not allowed i couldn't really give a sh1t if you take offence or not to be honest, you don't like my posts stick me on ignore now im down for the Hull game and will happily buy you a pint in the c&s and we can continue this debate i may let you off calling me stupid as well

Polter on 11:32 - Dec 16 with 1459 views | adhoc_qpr | The guy has still probably played less than 60 minutes of Championship football in total - bit harsh to make any definite judgements. From his cameos to date (and watching him in the cup) i see no reasons he can't contribute from the bench when we need a physical presence to ruffle defenders. Especially given our lack of options upfront. Whether he can actually score goals (scuffed cup goal and reserve team penalties aside) or control the football is still to be determined.

well said Gloucs. R's fans have always had a bad habit of deciding someone is crap before giving them a chance, thus reducing their confidence which becomes self-fulfilling. Polter is a blunt instrument but he has a role to play and could hopefully do the kind of thing which BZ did for us, ie bully defenders and unsettle them. And for god's sake, surely he can't do worse than Phillips did up front when Chaz was inj. He should have got more game time in CA's absence IMO.
