Hi,
They play Fer so, they can sell him come Jan. And hide Chery who scores more goals, until after the xfer window closes.
Banksy was brought in to get the best from the Dutchies and find us some cheap bargains in the lower bins. The fact that he likes high temp pressing two banks of four (Hollerway style) is also great.
I suspect this is why Toilet is being played as well.

Bendtner's holding down a regular spot with Wolfsburg, who're fourth in the Bundesliga. He starts occasionally or, more often, is a late sub, like Polter today. He'll never be the sharpest knife in the drawer but he's a much better player than at Arsenal. And if Polter turns out to be as useful for us he'll definitely be earning his keep. | | | |

Like him or not he certainly shook up the Brighton defence when he came on. Most would agree that Fer is a better player but he has an attention span of 60 minutes. After the hour mark he poses no threat at all. Polter was like a fox in the henhouse. |  |

that was bad luck, just came on and not into the pace of the game. at least he was in the right spot and in another game it could have been a goal.
he has a presence and workrate that disrupts defences. if fer had that in his locker he'd be far more effective as he obviously has ability, but in this division a lot can be overcome simply by working hard.
he hasn't had anywhere near enough game time to be judged on, particualrly given the tactics adopted earlier in the season. |  | | |

The guy has still probably played less than 60 minutes of Championship football in total - bit harsh to make any definite judgements.
From his cameos to date (and watching him in the cup) i see no reasons he can't contribute from the bench when we need a physical presence to ruffle defenders. Especially given our lack of options upfront.
Whether he can actually score goals (scuffed cup goal and reserve team penalties aside) or control the football is still to be determined. | | | |

well said Gloucs. R's fans have always had a bad habit of deciding someone is crap before giving them a chance, thus reducing their confidence which becomes self-fulfilling. Polter is a blunt instrument but he has a role to play and could hopefully do the kind of thing which BZ did for us, ie bully defenders and unsettle them. And for god's sake, surely he can't do worse than Phillips did up front when Chaz was inj. He should have got more game time in CA's absence IMO. | | | |
