Hooparoo's shout for manager 20:35 - Nov 15 with 15505 views | bosh67 | Roberto Di Matteo - what a great shout. Can't believe he hasn't been mentioned. Available as well. Almost 50% win rate at every club he has served. Okay, ex chelsea but got overlooked the last few times here. Great man manager and plays great football. Only problem I guess would be if he would take the step down to this division? Probably not but a great shout I thought.

Hooparoo's shout for manager on 14:11 - Nov 18 by Northernr | Indeed, take Suarez, Sturridge and Sterling out of any team it's going to have an impact, plus Gerrard declining. Hardly a farce. |
He stuck with Gerrard though, even when it was obvious he was doing more harm than good. He also sold Carroll at a massive loss to change the playing style to what he wanted, only to revert to that with Benteke years later. Even after countless purchases and players he still didn't know his best system. Strikes me as too extreme an example of a modern manager - hence overrated.

Not saying he did a good job, just saying 'farce' is a bit strong.
Hooparoo's shout for manager on 14:46 - Nov 18 with 1801 views | BazzaInTheLoft | If we are taking the idea that Brenden Rogers is coming to QPR seriously, you know he'll just fack off to somewhere else as soon as they show an interest right? He's not the most loyal. [Post edited 18 Nov 2015 14:47]

Hooparoo's shout for manager on 15:53 - Nov 18 with 1754 views | simmo | I'll add loyalty to the list of things we need in a manager then, so far we have; Bring success in the short term Think about the future Play attacking/exciting football Concentrate on not conceding and being solid defensively Be young, innovative and a fresh option for the long term Have loads of experience — make sure you’ve seen it all before Be able to improve what we’ve got Buy lots of replacements Don’t lose 3 games in a row Play to the strengths of everybody all at once Always play your best players Give youth a chance Be interesting Don't be TOO interesting Be a man manager Be authoritarian Get a dog Bark yourself Understand that the players are not good enough to do certain things Make sure things change Hire specialist coaches that are proven Be on the training pitch everyday Become good enough to move on to bigger and better things Be loyal

As you said previously, losing Suarez permanently and Sturridge for most of last season had a massive impact on how they played and their results. S&S scored over 50 goals between them and Liverpool finished 2nd. Not too shabby really.

agree with the sentiments but don't think I'd place Fillery in that company - I'd file him alongside Tommy Langley...

Hoos has been here 4 months and 5 days, so now we can't pin Ramsey on him.

He said at the forum that he and LF would do a round of interviews, there'd then be a second round of interviews for the final shortlist with "everybody involved" by which I took him to mean Ruben/Fernandes.

I'll just amend this to reflect what people actually asked for so that their views aren't grossly misrepresented. Bring acceptable performances for the squad that you have in the short term Think about the future Play attacking/exciting football Not be the worst defensive unit in the division with the highest budget for defenders. Be young, innovative and a fresh option for the long term Have the bare minimum amount of experience required to transition to a senior team manager role. Be able to improve what we’ve got Buy lots of replacements (I had to leave that here just so I could point out how silly it is.) Pick a style and play players who are suited to that, tailor your transfer policy to this rather than 'seeing what we have.' Don't always play your worst players and don't always take off whoever is performing the best. Give youth a chance Understand that the players are not good enough to do certain things and don't put them in positions to fail. Hire coaches period. Be loyal to the needs of the club.

Hooparoo's shout for manager on 17:00 - Nov 18 with 1617 views | adhoc_qpr | Surely Rodgers is way to arrogant to drop down to the Championship? He's the type of manager who thinks he should have a top 4 job - and if Mourinho implodes he may even get one in the short term!

Is he though? He started in the Championship with Swansea (I know his career started before this).....maybe he think he could rebuild us. Not convinced he is a realistic target though. [Post edited 18 Nov 2015 17:08]

Maybe farce is the wrong word but the speed with which it all unravelled has to be the manager losing control. Losing Suarez was obviously a body blow but that still doesn't account for how quickly a squad who were a slip away from winning the title became so ordinary so quickly. I'm just not sure about Rodgers. He'd be stupid to come here anyway I would have thought. [Post edited 18 Nov 2015 20:07]

Seriously? Well basically he lost the 2 highest scorers in the PL from the previous season for almost the entire next season. They went from scoring over 100 goals to scoring around 50 in 2014/15. Strangely enough around the same amount of goals Suarez and Sturridge scored between them the previous season. I think that would account for a large proportion of why they became so ordinary.

Good point. I don't want a manager with a f*cking dog. What about a cat? They could sit their on the bench looking like an evil Bond villain. Oh no - we've had the Bond villain too!

Fair enough. His odds have now dropped to 5/2 so looks like it is him do I guess we'll find out for ourselves soon.
