B Teams again... 14:02 - Mar 2 with 3846 viewsThran

Apparently all the clubs from L2 besides Wimbledon have agreed to having B teams in the JPT and it's possibly a similar outcome with L1 clubs.

http://thedonstrust.org/2015/02/23/february-dons-trust-board-meeting-summary/

"There was also discussion about that day’s Football League (FL) meeting which was understood to have authorised the FL executive to finalise proposals to allow Premier League ‘B’ teams to enter the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy, with AFC Wimbledon being the only League Two club to vote against. It was agreed that Kris Stewart would talk with other trusts to help us decide whether this is something for the Dons Trust to follow up."

Well Done Wimbledon Phoenix Fans it'd make our leagues look terrible if these B sides were allowed into the mix it's be like Accrington Stanley v Barcelona B Team it'd certainly be in favor of putting money into big clubs pockets

They're just propping the door open. Shame on the clubs for okaying this. They're not interested in the JPT. They're interested in forming a B Team to compete in the Football League.

We DON'T need B Teams here. Our greatest strength is our Football Pyramid. With so many professional and semi-professional clubs around the country the game should be accessible to everyone. Instead of B Teams for squad players (this is nothing to do with producing English players), the FA should focus on supporting clubs in setting up academies of their own. They can start by heavily subsidising UEFA Coaching and Pro Licence courses instead of pricing them out of reach for anyone not having their workplace paying for it.

What did the Premier League ever do for us?

"Although only about 5% of Premier League funds eventually filter down to grass-roots level, Mr Scudamore said he was not in a position to guarantee that the 70% rise in the price of TV rights would be reflected in funding for grass-roots football."

"The Premier League and FA Facilities Fund, managed by the Football Foundation, commits £34m per year to improving the nation's grassroots football facilities. This includes £12m a year each from the FA and Premier League, and £10m from the government.
However, this amount is almost half the £60m per year that used to be given to fund grassroots facilities and less than 1% of the £5.6bn the Premier League receives from TV revenue alone - the biggest total of any league in the world."

At their next meeting with the board the Trust should ask whether or not we voted in favour of this proposal. If we did, I would like to know why.

Shocking decision. As said the thin end of the wedge, not only do they not feed the money down , they now want to use and abuse us.
