Jeff was caught sleeping far too much, Taylor was abused by Navas, and I'm beginning to think we really need to find Rangel an understudy/replacement because he just isn't quite cutting it for me. Not to mention Bartley looked like a fish out of water and I can't wait until we've got Amat/Fernandez back in the side. Your personal thoughts?

Could have nicked a draw at the end, but my feeling was if a more attacking change was made earlier we might have had a chance. Players didn't let anyone down today.

I liked the fight we had today but there is still one thing that I don't understand.......... If our wingers are so fast then why don't we kick the ball forward in to space down the flanks for them to run on to instead of always passing to feet ? I asked this question last season but now we have even more pace I'm still confused as to why we don't. Second goal could have been avoided if Carroll had done this. Also when Barrow came on they were petrified of his pace but we always passed it to feet. With a few minutes to go Fabianski got the ball out quickly to Angel and it was basically 2 against one down Citeh's left but instead of kicking the ball in to miles of open space for Barrow to run in on goal he waited and waited and waited and waited and then when he finally passed the ball Barrow had been closed down. I love our passing game but sometimes I wish they'd employ this tactic, great counter attacking. Not been convinced of Carroll so far but thought he had a good game today (apart from that pass) looked composed and nicked the ball a few times off Toure and others. The only downside was Montero, losing the ball too often, bad decision making and passing. Saying that he did do some good defending. Only commenting on this because he has the ability. There does seem to be a growing confidence within the team about how good they actually can be and that can only bode well for the future. Most of last season they would have rolled over.........well not any more, great to see them playing for one another. Oh, and THAT save. [Post edited 22 Nov 2014 20:46]

Bollox re point of attacking change being made earlier. Once we went down, we consolidated then made the change..spot on. Reactionary equals cave in.

Easy to say now of course, but for me Carrols pressured missed pass into Toure was coming and when we went after them and pushed them back a bit more at the end we were defending better. Shape was better like.
