Am I in some sort of parallel universe? We have been told that capacity is maximum 2170,a fear of a a second wave and winter will mean that social distancing is not going to alter,certainly this calendar year and who knows how long into next. So the club are selling season tickets as per normal!!!!! Sandy Lane???? How???? Wilbutts not mentioned. Are they still expecting 3,000 Sunderland to travel down????? Do not understand the plan at all |

A fair point regarding the club preferring adults paying full whack and the kids not getting a look in. So,it’s 2170 lucky soles who are getting access. Logistics? What do we reckon? Sandy Lane shut. Just under a thousand in the Wilbutts. The rest shared between the Pearl St and Main Stand? No kiosks. Opening Studds/ Dale bar during game/ half time? Surely not practical. Before game? Could be done for advanced bookings,not in the spirit of a normal match day,but could be done easily with tables scattered about. Toilet facilities? Just don’t see a simple solution for this. We all want to go at half time. Will let others come up with solutions to that. Initial entrance to the ground? Have heard mention of staggered arrival times. In the real world,don’t see that happening. Everyone has to push the turnstiles,again it seems a minor thing,but that’s hundreds of hands touching the same bits of metal. Seating arrangements? I take it no more than 6 people can sit together? Will the club be checking up on people’s addresses re social bubbles etc? And back to the initial point, will it be a one size fits all price for all ages? Just a few points to mull over. |

Not read all this thread so I don’t know what has been put on here,but this article seems to sum up what the scenario is going to be. Altman tried his experiment at Swansea but wasn’t listened too. So,as he says,you need to own the club. Hence he has scoured the leagues for his pet project and guess who he has chosen. He certainly hasn’t bought shares in Rochdale to make millions. We will be his guinea pig,for better or for worse! |

I am great fan of Callum as a budding defensive midfielder. Watched him last season grow into that role, now he has matured and “filled out”. With Olly as an attacking midfielder i feel we can build a team around that. For the detractors of him,just watch him off the ball,reads the game and makes some timely interventions to nullify opposing attacks. Why do you think Peterborough are watching him? |

I would be astounded if Hendo departs for any club at League 1 level or below in the next 10 months. A 34 year old professional footballer wants to play at the highest level he is capable of unless he gets a financial offer he can’t refuse,dropping to League 2 would not appeal surely.He does not need the money courtesy of his successful business interests,he knows he is a legend at this club and is within touching distance of Reg Jenkins all time goalscorer record. I would only be concerned if a Championship club came in and turned his head to test himself at a higher level. |

My virgin post on this site,have read the threads on here for a couple of seasons and thought I would join in.This post aimed at Dale fans who stand/sit at the Crown Oil and listen to the opposition chants/witness 3,000 in the Wilbutts ,of these so called “superior clubs” and who go to work places on a Monday morning alongside people who support the so called “bigger clubs” and get the history lesson!! Let’s have some examples if coming face to face with some of our League 1 rivals this season. Bury, I remember the bloody banner at Gigg pointing at us “Trophy virgins”....ok, they won the cup twice over a hundred years ago. The here and now,the club will be lucky to survive liquidation with a 12 point deduction if it does!! Bolton,a rich history indeed. Deep down though,show me a true Trotter who wasn’t embarrassed by the Normid store jutting out at Burnden and who is truly happy out in Horwich. The here and now,minus 12 points before they start a season in League 1!! Coventry fans annoyed me last season singing that our support was f****** shit. The here and now,yet another season in League 1 for this “huge” club and I am planning a day trip to St Andrews to watch Dale play them. Say no more. Next,Sunderland,40,000 capacity ground. Wasn’t happy with our chairman treating them like Real Madrid,they didn’t impress me as a promotion side,and so it proved. And we go on to relegated sides who came to the Crown Oil as the big boys...Bradford,Scunthorpe. We are about to start our 6th season in League 1 with possibly 1.5 million in the bank courtesy of Craig Dawson and Dan Adshead transfer. So next time these “big boy” clubs come marching in the Regal and up to Spotland be inwardly smug. Up the Dale |
