Fan led Review

For those of you who are interested, Tracey Crouch's letter to Oliver Dowden appears below

https://assets.publishing.service.g...letter_to_Oliver_Dowden_Accessible_Format.

There will be summary information in relation to this and (hopefully) the FSA's detailed evidence to the review on the BST website over the coming week or so.

What on earth is REALLY going on there then?

Mr. Krasner has already gone on the record to say that they are not certain to see the season though to completion. He knows how to manage expectations, does Gerald.

Nice to see that the integrity of that competition is also in good hands, like L1 and L2 have proved to be.

Borough Market Watch
at 14:04 9 Apr 2020

Another successful excursion today. However the upcoming Bank Holiday closure meant we had to queue to be served this morning. We bore this with our customary good humour, although I was forced to issue a rebuke to a tourist (!!) who came too close. He appeared shocked at my suggestions for what he might usefully do with his camera.

No eggs today, which means we have just 17 to get us through the long weekend. One hopes this will be enough. And we turned down their kind offer of scrag end - as I said to them, there may well be some poor people who need it far more than we do. You have to think of others, don't you?

OK. In this game you list five famous people that you have met, but one of them is a lie. Whoever is first to spot the imposter gets to share their own list and on we go. I'll start you with :

1. Esther Ranzen
2. John Prescott
3. Ken Livingston
4. Martin Peters
5. Linda Lusardi

Over to you......

And Borough Market has been rewarded for staying open with a visit from Catford Royalty **.

Plenty of choice today, Neal's Yard also properly stocked so meat, milk, bread and cheese all snaffled. The London Bridge area is a ghost town, apart from the Market only the hospital is at all populated and traffic is non-existent.

The only thing about the quietness is that the nutcases are a lot more visible, and funnily enough they don't seem to grasp social distancing. Not as many beggars around though - you can draw your own conclusions about that.....

** Jane, not me. Naturally.

Bravery under fire - a modern twist

La Reborn is currently upstairs working from home. She is due a brew, which is my job.

However, she is currently listening to Led Zeppelin, and the volume suggests that she is struggling with a thorny problem.

I'm scared to go in. I'm also scared of the consequences if I don't. Is there a special category of support from the Government that I might qualify for?

Even by our standards, the last week or so has been momentous for Blackpool FC. It all kicked off in the High Court - where too much of our future has been determined in the last two years.

will Christmas come early?

It's been a strange couple of weeks, if you are a Blackpool fan. Firstly, we got the much anticipated but equally much delayed departure of Jose Riga ; the uncharacteristically swift appointment of a replacement ; and then two games that could hardly have contrasted more had they tried.

Nine league games in and our season shows no real sign of picking up. A lot has been made in the last fortnight of the better performances we have been seeing since the first international break. We are undeniably playing better, and can say with some justification that we are probably not getting the rub of the green. But the stark fact is that this perceived improvement has yielded two points and one goal in four games. Whichever way you look at those statistics, they clearly don't give much cause for optimism.

We live nowadays in a world where superstars are hyped up to the eyeballs by the media, portrayed as other worldly beings who are somehow different from, and remote from the rest of us. And of course, they need to be photogenic as well. That goes without saying.
