My observation ( and agree with all about last night). Our perceived weakness of not having a 20 goal a season striker is even more offset by another 2 newbies scoring last night for the 1st time this season. This is the definition of team. So I think we have Dunne, Edwards, Fox, Paal, Field, Morgan, Varane, Madsen, Saito, Smyth, Chair, Celar, Frey, Kolli, May, Dembele and Colback?
I have no idea of where that sits in the league but 17 on the scoresheet seems something to me.
Cook is bound to get one before the season ends |

Again interesting question around shape in midfield, I want Varane to start in front of the back 4, the debate around where Illias plays decides the line up. Personally would give Sam a rest and have Varane and Jack starting , or maybe Morgan or Illias on the left or Saito ( definitely Saito). Nice to have choices, hoping Paul Smyth not injured as he was limping when he went off on Tuesday and got the ref to tell the bench he couldn’t carry on.

So ( ever the optimist) I disagree. Squad strengthened and no departures. Keep Saito, add new lad in the middle, Celar back and the “Young Ones” with more games under their belts. Don’t want to start a thread but need to keep Jimmy. I look at the subs bench and add those currently injured and squad depth has improved markedly. |

Really interesting how we set up in the middle for this one. Does Marti start with Varane, Field and Morgan or go with Illias at number 10 with 2 of the previous 3 behind him? Blackburn was Illias’s best game so far ( he looked fit) . He would be my 1st choice with Varane and Field. Nice to have options. Heart says 2-1 QPR and wanting Illias to join the 17 odd scorers in the side, head says 1-1 and really tight game |

100% agree, he is an international with a non Mickey Mouse national side ( sorry Disney) . We all saw what scoring a couple of goals did to his confidence, anyone who can score like that is worth keeping. I reckon we have over 15 players scored so far this season and not one of them Illias Chair |

Sounds like he is going to need Marti’s skills in team building and making everyone feel special. Can’t believe he comes in as 1st choice left back yet until next season. Maybe we don’t need a squad of Mr Nice Guys? Doesn’t sound like a typical Nourry choice. So if he and Vale get announced today our left side suddenly is awash |

Lack of pace with middle 2 though. Edwards is the better option at RB compared to that RB Ashby methinks. Home game against Sheff Utd will be interesting as I think we won’t jeer him but cheer him |
