I’ve kept on this incident Now,I’m seeing the Hime Sec saying they’ve stopping online sales of zombie knives ,failing to understand the average kitchen drawer has enough potential deadly implements that can be used . Have a look at a carving knife . Look at the average vegetable knife . They can be planted well into a body. Thing is ,if somebody is prepared to take such an implement onto the streets then they should understand they will ,if caught, spend 15 years in jail, minimum . We should also bring back the death penalty ( we won’t) or have sentences that are appropriate and five years is not enough for someone who stabs a kid to death

We have lost our way
Definitely lost our way , the yanks have guns ,we have knifes and an I don't care attitude to others lives , this is shown everywhere , no respect for others ,feral kids brought up by parent(or maybe parents) more feral than the kid , society needs a huge reset starting in the home ,respect for the laws enforced by the law which above reproach ,shop lifting for example ignored in fact treated as a way of life. The country is rotten I'm afraid .

I agree to some extent as what we as a society ignore or stand back watching , filming on our phones rather than interacting , scared to intervene as we the innocent maybe deemed guilty for b restraining someone whilst someone's attacked or as is the norm a shop nowadays ransacked .A high profile ex major of New York had a policy of no crime was above investigating nor perpetrator prosecuting and crime levels dropped to levels never seen before now in this country we have too many police afraid to do their job properly or guided by policy rather than the law .Some may say that the riots and justice handed out last year were correct and fair but imo that wasn't a justice system being used for the good but as a tool against the people it was meant to protect , we have certain freedoms in this country which are now being quelled for a political agenda driven by an ideology to protect their interests and not the people.

Great response
Just what I feel and think , watching this just reinforces what is so wrong with this country , by the way what is that symbol of the rear screen of the police car, top right corner at 7 minutes in

I’d burn all religious books My father only read the Bible and evangelical literature ,even on holiday He was guided by his faith and drove his family away but as long as he could worship the Lord he was happy He prayed every day

Unless I'm mistaken I do believe burning a book is not a criminal offence and the amount of understaffed police officers arriving was incredible. We don't have blasphemy laws anymore since 2008 that is so why the over reaction ?

Because I guarantee you Chief Constables wantbto be seen as supporting diversity Personally, having black history month and rainbow regalia on police vehicles is an affront to me

I think you can attribute the blame for most of the above to the Conservative governments of Cameron and May. The College of Policing which is directed by the Home Office issued a raft of new guidance/directions called it what you will to Chief Constables about what should and what shouldn’t be done when dealing with various offences. A guy I know was a senior cop and had been on the College of Policing’s accelerated promotion scheme which, his view was shoplifting wasn’t something the police should deal with and that victims should deal with it through the civil courts because the police didn’t have the resources and it wasnt high enough priority - I get the resourcing issue but shoplifting is a huge problem and a lot of it is carried out by organised criminals and drug users who steal to fund their habit.

Yep.May the most appalling Home Sec on my lifetime A woman who stated police were not a special case yet she changed pensions contribution and length of service to 40 yrs Now,let me assure you, police officers are leaving in droves Coupled with gutless diversity obsessed chiefs ,they are broken Thebuggest rise in police is in Diversity management, departments ,people with no policing experience absolutely nowt to do with thief taking

Most of our cities that have the highest crime and stabbing rates are run by Labour, and have been for many years.
I’m not disputing that, I’m just commenting on what happened under Cameron and May. They also reduced the police establishment by 20,000 which is a hell of a lot.

All that is history, and maybe why the conservatives were voted out.
What we should be concerned about, is the present time under labour, and they seem to be doing even worst than the conservatives.
And waving "Previous governments fault" card everytime there's bad news, is wearing thin, just as the the racist card has.
Challenge a shoplifter with a Stanley knife or syringe hidden in their pocket or sleeve will make colleauges back off , you desperate for that bottle of Jack Daniels to sell on for your next fix , I do not want verbals and confrontation .
Politicians bang on about shop theft and their actions to combat it , rubbish claptrap . Police have no interest even turning up to the Store to investigate crime reported .
Small coal I agree our issues in store to children being stabbed going to school .
Not being Daily Mail here , but there really is a underbelly of problems in the UK sucessive Governments cannot fix .
I do really appreciate the Teachers caught up in this sandstorm of protection .
They go to work daily to teach and educate pupils .

Good old Google says
""Following the pandemic, knife crime has risen in each year and 15,000 incidents were recorded in 2023/24. Knife crime with injury (a subset of knife crime) rose by 15% from roughly 4,100 offences in 2010/11 to 4,700 in 2017/18. It has since fallen to around 3,800 in 2023/24.27 Jan 2025"
10-15 injuries a day. A lot of scanners are seen at shopping malls but where I have seen them they are mostly unattended.
