Luke off to the Netherlands 20:09 - Jan 16 with 2742 views | KeithHaynes | With three games in 7 days. People actually standing up for him and saying it’s ok. How many muppets supporting this club do we have ? His job is three games in seven days, prepping the team and dealing with management issues, not fecking off over Europe doing someone else’s job.

It’s not right, with three games in seven days he’s the head coach, not trawling players in the Netherlands. It’s a complete mess.

Luke off to the Netherlands on 20:34 - Jan 16 with 1630 views | magicdaps10 | Sunday is a day off. He will be over and back in 1 day and will be ready for training Monday morning. If it's to get a deal or 2 over the line then it's fine with me.

Luke off to the Netherlands on 20:36 - Jan 16 with 1613 views | ReslovenSwan1 | Cooper was given young superstars Gyorkeres and Whittaker and did not fancy developing either of them. Neither played. Cooper was resentful when given two experienced US internationals. Coleman wants Williams to accept these players as his and not treat them like Big Myk and Nathan Ntoe who were bought for Duff.

I would be flattered if manager from abroad came ober to see me, would signal how much they want them and that is what they are hoping to achieve. We need to do things outside the box in our situation.

Is he scouting or going to talk to a player face to face to get him over the line. It just seems strange otherwise.

If it’s just talking get him to fly over here ! This isn’t a slight against LW btw, this is a club thing.

Luke Williams is set to fly out to the Netherlands this weekend as the club assesses alternatives to Wycombe Wanderers star Joe Low. It's understood Williams is set to cast an eye over two possible centre-back options, with the club seemingly no closer to a breakthrough in negotiations for Low, who had previously emerged as Swansea City's top target this January.

I concur. Fly the player over and show him the magnificent facilities available and make him an offer he can't refuse. No need for a return flight then and in the team ready for Saturday

I think it's a case to go and see players to sell the club....I take that to get deals over the line or attempt to clinch the deal. Looks like Phillips at Barnsley is being discussed Dolan sounds like it's a no go. Just watch the interview, read between the quotes and link them and take time to look at his facial expressions when he answers.

Maybe he's being SENT over so the board can have some airtime with the players and someone digging into the players confidence into the manager!

After the shambles of the Southampton game it might be a good idea to keep him and his coaching team well away from the training pitch. You’re playing against a possession based team who’ll want to play through the press to release their three or four fast attacking players so there’s two main options; press or sit deep and he decides to press, didn’t he know how Southampton will play. We had P-H, Ronald, Eom, Bianchini and Franco who would have been responsible for the press but for the most part they didn’t have a clue when to go and when to sit, this should have been worked on not just for this game but at times through the season so when it was needed everyone would know their job. So we ended up being played through easily, their fast attacking players given loads of space to cause us constant problems. Added to that you end up exposing our two makeshift central defenders and new keeper. Surely we should have sat deep, limit the space to reduce them playing through us at speed, provide more support for the makeshift defenders and play on the break when possible not leave so open. Did LW set the team up to make a statement to the board about the quality of the squad, did he just get the tactics wrong on the night or has he just lost interest after the WBA debacle. Difficult games coming up he needs to show he’s fully in this. Onwards and upwards I suppose.
Luke off to the Netherlands on 23:13 - Jan 16 with 919 views | QJumpingJack | Maybe if the club had appointed an experienced director of football then Luke wouldn't need to be doing all this travelling? If Sunday is a "day off" for the players then I don't think it is a big deal. If we end up signing better defenders from his visit on Sunday then I can't see there being too many complaints.

The scouts have recommended these Dutch players and they could have gone ahead without Williams seeing them. The last Dutch defender is permanently on the bench and by now must be pretty demoralised. Nathan Ntoe an On. Swansea cannot afford to buy player Williams will not select. it is common sense. He will will not miss any matches perhaps one training session. He will go KLM presumably after the Cardiff game and fly back Sunday morning. He will have all the data at hand. Give the club some credit. This is option B or C.

Well I think it does. I have explained that Swansea have a bad history of changing manger too often and seeing w unwanted player decline on the bench. One reason for this is Swansea do not like experienced squad players turning out for the u21s. They would prefer to play a 17 year old. There have been numerous players like this, Williams did not pick Ntoe and Kuharevych and steadfastly refuses to play them. Cooper was very upset at two on the face of it solid US internationals. Martin declined to play Whitaker despite the fact he was far better than Cullen at the time.

Luke off to the Netherlands on 07:24 - Jan 17 with 620 views | Dr_Winston | Unfortunately the Troll does have a point (in a stopped clock style). We have signed far too many players in recent seasons that managers have petulantly refused to give proper opportunities to. Some have gone on to do well, spectacularly well in some cases elsewhere. Kyle Joseph is the latest. Almost entirely ignored, sent on loan and eventually used as a makeweight, now on the verge of a £2m+ move back to the Championship. We can't afford to keep throwing money away. If this means Williams is fully on board with who we're trying to sign it's no biggie. I can't imagine him not being near the players for a day or two would be detrimental in any case. [Post edited 17 Jan 7:39]
