A mist opportunity as Foxes hit QPR for six – Report on 22:00 - Jan 12 with 3481 views | BrianMcCarthy | Well done, Clive. An incredibly hard report to compose and write, I'd imagine. I think you were fair to all views and, as ever, incredibly funny as well. "A mist opportunity"! Dowcha.

My mate and myself always do the Leicester away game but he refuses to do FA cup matches and has done for years . It’s worn him down because he knows it’s just Groundhog Day . Magnificent turn out yesterday. Plusses. Varane and Kollis goal . Not much else.

Glad you mentioned Saito, been saying to my son for weeks that he doesn't contribute. Not really sure why he gets a free ride, maybe because he runs and tackles. A low bar.

Think he has had a better impact coming on as a sub rather than starting

A mist opportunity as Foxes hit QPR for six – Report on 23:14 - Jan 12 with 3025 views | Dorse | Saito's attitude is top-notch. You never see him half-arse it, and that is appreciated by teammates and fans. I guess that must be the origin of his 'free pass'. However, I wonder how far this will take him. At some point, he needs to take a match by the scruff of the neck and just own it. Really influence the outcome: it's what's missing from his game. It's almost as though he's too nice. He is not a bad player - Lord knows, we've seen a few - I just desperately want to see him find his next gear. That would be something. Edit: kudos to Clive for resisiting the temptation to use the headline 'R's Achieve Fog All As Usual'. Thank you very much, I'm here all week. A mist opportunity as Foxes hit QPR for six – Report on 23:39 - Jan 12 with 2920 views | Beckenhamhoop | I thought you were very kind to Ashby in your write up (though not in his justifiable mark of 2). Trying to dribble past players in the position on the pitch is stupid, jogging back and not looking at all bothered to try and stop crosses from the byline is unforgivable. Poor Santos was not as fortunate in getting the same level of sympathy from supporters when played out of position against arguably the leagues best right winger in Ben Doak. I refuse to believe that Santos, our own player, can be any worse that Ashby. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

A mist opportunity as Foxes hit QPR for six – Report on 00:02 - Jan 13 with 2780 views | eastside_r | And another bloody thing. Why were we kicking off at 2pm. Because we had to move because there was Rugby later on and Leicester is a rugby town. EXCEPT IT ISN’T. It may be that rugby is more popular there than in other places but the attendance at the King Power yesterday was more than the rugby stadium’s capacity. The end of our game was the clearest the pitch got. Had we kicked off at 3, we might have got to see a lot more of the action.
A mist opportunity as Foxes hit QPR for six – Report on 00:27 - Jan 13 with 2724 views | mart_Goblin | Great report Clive . Get your frustration and many others . Both sides of the inevitable argument covered fairly and I, like you see both sides . My gut feeling is to be in the other camp but yes of course , I’m sick of the clubs record at this stage or any stage really of this cup competition. I just live in fear of being dragged down into that relegation fight once again so why risk our best (on form) fit defender right now ? But as I said previously , it was always going to split the fan base …and that it did .
A mist opportunity as Foxes hit QPR for six – Report on 00:34 - Jan 13 with 2689 views | muckduck | Great report - I'd only have Ashby slightly higher rated than Madsen because regardless of execution (really poor) he at the very least wanted things to happen and didn't hide. Unrelated, but would Birmingham want another Dozzell this month?
A mist opportunity as Foxes hit QPR for six – Report on 04:34 - Jan 13 with 2375 views | stainrods_elbow | In my view, and as many others have amplified, had MC not made the six changes he did and sensibly just opted for one or two (if any), or at least made decisive changes at half-time, we'd likely have been in with a real shout from start to finish. Putting on Frey for ten minutes or so (when he couldn't have changed anything, but still could have got injured) was as baffling as it was pointless. Nor did I think Leicester were all that - we dominated them for half of the first half, and only lost by gifting them goals. Marti is a decent if still developing manager, who has clearly done some good things while at the club, but I think he's also a seductive, and possibly self-seductive, charmer when it comes to his suave, crowd-pleasing, brand-managing pre-match rhetoric. His startling disinclination, post-match, to address the obvious effects of his selection and game management decisions rather than merely focussing on the team's mistakes and his frustration with same strikes me as grimly self-serving and evasive. Finally, I was watching on an excellent stream and the overall visibility of the game was relatively good on it, so well played the technology, as I missed nothing. [Post edited 13 Jan 4:46]

A mist opportunity as Foxes hit QPR for six – Report on 06:50 - Jan 13 with 2216 views | Rsole | Thanks for the report Clive - not an easy one to write. I’m going to have to report what appears to be a typo though….I think you could be missing the letter N in this sentence: Jamie Vardy, on his 38th birthday, is still an absolute cut above this, even allowing for an inexplicable first half miss over the top of an open goal. See you next Tuesday.

Think there was a sliding doors moment with Saito during Oct / early Nov. During our injury crisis then, he was probably the bright spot. One game in particular I remember thinking "how has he not scored 1 goal and possibly 3" - everything was going through him and I think he hit the post twice, curled a beauty just wide, had one cleared off the line. Around that time he was looking like the real deal. Since Chair has come back, he seems to have gone into his shell. Reckon if he'd got at least one goal during that period (and he certainly deserved at the very least one goal if not several goals) we'd be looking at a different player now. I think there is a hard-working, talented player in there (unlike certain others *cough* Madsen) but can we get the best of that player out?
A mist opportunity as Foxes hit QPR for six – Report on 07:36 - Jan 13 with 2044 views | BushRanger82 | I am sick to the back teeth of this lack of wanting to win silverware at our club. Walk past effing Chelsea football club, and you will see an impressive list of honours proudly displayed to all and sundry. That's what I want for the Rangers. Why, oh, why, do so few, managers, players, and even fans, deem mid-table mediocraty, a class above gaining honours? If we had only half the gumption, half the ambition, Chelsea have shown since their foundation in 1905, our pathetic honours list of one, single, solitary, league cup win, since our foundation in 1886, would be a hell of a lot more palatable. Our club must start regaining some pride in itself. The worst record for 3rd round exits has to start being remedied. Good report, Clive, as ever.
A mist opportunity as Foxes hit QPR for six – Report on 07:52 - Jan 13 with 1969 views | rbee | An excellent balanced summary Clive. I think along the same lines as you in that we had to rest key players on Saturday. Speaking of lines this was the key one in your report and I am sure that it is firmly planted in the back of Marti's mind ''It wouldn’t take much to be sucked back down into the relegation whirlpool.''

£105k prize money from winning the 3rd round, £110k live broadcast fee for the 4th round and the 45% share of the gate at Old Trafford (£1-1.5m?). For a club running as close to FFP as we are, I'd consider that a plus point

I am happy with Saito's contribution so far this season but I have noticed in the past four games he has gone all Andersen on us and suffered a lack of form and therefore contribution during matches. Unlike our Lucas so far this season I hope that Koki's form returns sooner rather than later.
A mist opportunity as Foxes hit QPR for six – Report on 09:12 - Jan 13 with 1637 views | thehat | Thank you Clive - Spot on report which was well balanced on the team sheet selection topic. I was okay when I saw the starting eleven as you say it wasn't development players but first team players who could of made a big statement to the manager with their performance - Unfortunately none of them took that opportunity. I was particularly disappointed with Edwards as I was very much looking forward to watching him play. Lacks pace and aggression and looked poor in the air just watch him for their first goal. I know he hasn't played much football and hopefully he will improve considerably in the weeks ahead as we will need him as Dunne will need to go back to Right Back. And as for Madsen again a big chance for him but after six months with us I could see no improvement from the beginning of the season. Big shout out to travelling fans who were magnificent again - A pleasure to be amongst you. Finally that was my first visit to the King Power Stadium, another soulless bowl lacking any atmosphere and character - I remember watching us at Filbert Street all those years ago which had both in abundance. Makes you appreciate how lucky we are to still have Loftus Road. [Post edited 13 Jan 9:20]

Saito was my MotM against Coventry when he came on to replace Paal in the first 10mins. A wing-back masterclass. Since then, his lack of physicality is being exposed - which in turn exposes the fullback behind him. Away to Watford, Baah basically runs over him several times; Baah's a big lad though so no shame and we had to sub Paal for Fox if I remember to deal with it. The Ashby penalty yesterday is partly on him for me - he lets El Cahones stroll past him, pitty-pats him in the back a few times and then gives up. That's Ashby two on one with Leicester's two best players and it was always going to end in tears. Chair or Smyth are no bigger than Saito but I can't see either giving up as easily and both (particularly Smyth) having a nibble from behind and taking the foul/yellow card). I like Saito but at the moment he's an ineffective combination of too small and too nice.

Agree with your statements on Saito 1,000% A very level headed way of saying he’s another player we’ve “bought” who is too lightweight for this level. Maybe that can be worked on and I hope so as he clearly has qualities I’ve watched a few games where his attacking runs have caused the opposition no end of problems but then you counter that with him just bouncing off opposition players and being run over in the simplest of fashion He has ability and application so hopefully strength and nous can follow

I think them turning the floodlights on full helped in the last 15 minutes, not sure why they were not on earlier or why a yellow ball wasn't used, guessing it was due to a clash with our kit
