Please no. Steve Bruce would be a disaster. Hopeless failure of a manager.

He’d be an improvement on Jones but, I agree, would be another underwhelming appointment.

The board really need to do better than that, given the mess they got us in.

If this Selles Chap has anything about him maybe he will do a good job until the seasons end
He has been there with two incompetents so perhaps he will see where the errors have been?

He may have failed at most places he's been but he would have those hapless, hopeless defenders working overtime on that training ground until they were doing in their sleep what they're supposed to be doing on the pitch.

As for the rest of the sorry shower?

Think we'd better appoint.. God only knows

We should be begging Poch to come to the rescue until the end of the season, then give him a free ticket out of St Mary's if he wants to leave. PIPE DREAM I KNOW.

My advice to Ramus Ankersen and Semmens is don't rush an appointment. If we need to make do with Selles to the end of the Season so be it, just don't appoint another loser.

Yes, this makes sense.
Such a shame that Sean Dyche has been snapped up.

They are not going to appoint duds like Bruce, Gerrard, Lampard, Alardyce etc
They have made one horrendous appointment so the next one needs to be watertight

Jose Fonte would do a better job working with our defenders. Look what he's done with young players like Lovren, Alderweireld, van Dijk, Gabriel, Botman etc. He's been an inspirational leader at Southampton and Lille. The next Vincent Kompany?

I'd bring him in, to start with, as first team coach/assistant manager to replace the two duds who've been sacked along with Jones.

If Gallardo is the choice or if Selles sees out this season, I can see him working well with either of them and being ready to step up; if it's Steve Bruce, God help us.

Yeah I think this might be the way to go.
Write this season off with Selles at the helm.
Start afresh in the Championship with a new manager who's not been demoralised by endless defeats.

Let's hope not. Has proved he can't manage in prem, let alone a team in our sh1t position. Could he motivate the players enough and work with them to get tge wins we need? Not so sure

It'll take a miracle to stop us going down now so need someone thst can do well in the Championship as well.

Unless of course we do see that miracle, we can only hope

Good time to play Chelsea on Sat and do the double over someone!

You mean capitalise on the sacked manager bounce?
That might not be too far from the truth!

This dude would be good for a team like ours. He's the bloke I wanted all along. Alas I think that ship has sailed. He's already said his next project will start in the summer.

Let’s hope they can see it like this. Because you’re right. The next manager needs to be an established winner.

What Gerrard did at Villa, starting with 4 wins in 6. when he took over from Dean Smith would be enough to keep us up. And, of course, he thrashed us 4-0 in the middle of another 3-match winning run that season, and that was after we'd beaten Dean Smith's Villa earlier in the season. He's certainly someone you'd get a new manager bounce from:
