I believe that they had a 10 year deal that ended in 2015. IMO the stadium should then have changed the name to "The City of Swansea Stadium" thus informing everyone that the naming rights were available. |  | | |

Always left a sour taste in my mouth that after what was allegedly a long and expensive search, the naming rights just happened to end up in the hands of an Egger Construction company with strong council links. |  |

Yeah, people forget that the Swans were the lesser draw in those days. Ospreys were the bigger deal commercially. No one had any interest at all in naming a stadium with a league 1 team playing there.
Even when we were premier league look at who our sponsors were of stands etc, and no one was interested in naming the stadium even then. Unless you’re a massive club, there’s just no money in it any more. Even the big teams are either names associated with owners (Etihad, Bet365j, flagship sponsorship at the opening to gain maximum traction (the Emirates) or smallish deals. | | | |
